  • What do I need to bring?

    • Park entrance fee
    • Valid ID
    • Camera
    • Money for additional wine tasting at the Sonoma Plaza
    • Sunscreen during summer months
    • Bottled water
    • Money for lunch
    • Winter clothes during the winter months
    • Solid shoes
  • What should I wear?

We recommend comfortable walking shoes, such as shoes or boots with rubber soles and treads. Hiking sandals (rather than beach sandals) can be worn on the Redwoods & Wine Country Escape during the summer months. High heels, flip-flops, and open-toe shoes are not recommended.

  • Is the Muir Woods entrance fee included? And how long do we spend inside Muir Woods?

The tour price does not include the Muir Woods entrance fee, which is $10 per person (based on 2016) and must be paid when you reach the entrance of the park. You have about an hour on your own inside the Muir Woods National Monument.

  • Which wineries are we going to visit?

On our Redwoods & Wine Country Escape tour we visit 3 wineries, located in Sonoma Valley and Napa Valley. Each winery stop ranges from 30-45 minutes. We’ve narrowed the list of winery stops to those that offer the best California Wine Country experience for our clientele. We have preferred partner wineries that we like to visit but the wineries may depend on the day. Occasionally, a winery on our tour may be closed for a private event, so our tour guides may change the itinerary on the day of the trip.

  • Does this tour go to Napa?

Yes, we do. The itinerary of visiting Napa Valley AND Sonoma Valley in combination with Muir Woods National Monument is what makes this tour unique.

  • Are wine tasting included and how much money do I need for the additional wine tastings in Sonoma Plaza?

Yes, all wine tasting fees at the 3 winery stops are included on this tour. If you want to join additional wine tasting, please feel free to do that. The wine tasting fees range from $5 to $20.

  • What languages are available for this tour?

The tour is narrated in English but we offer complimentary audio guides in 8 languages: Spanish, French, German, Italian, Korean, Mandarin, Japanese, and Portuguese. If an audio tour is required, please specify the languages needed in the comments section on the reservation page.

  • Is this tour suitable for children?

Yes, children of all ages are welcome on the tour though drinking alcohol is not permitted for those under the age of 21. Please bring a valid photo ID.

  • Do we stop at Golden Gate Bridge?

Yes, there will be about 15-minutes for a photo stop opportunity at the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

  • Can we buy food or do we have to bring our own lunch?

You are more than welcome to bring a bagged lunch though you will have time to pick up lunch or sit down at a casual eatery at the Historic Sonoma Plaza.

  • What is the advantage of this combination tour compared to the tours separately?

The Redwoods & Wine Country Escape combines two of California's top attractions. You get the chance to see the Giant Redwood trees and you will join several wine tastings in both Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley - all in just one day. There is also a huge saving by booking this combination tour rather than booking both trips separately.

Wine Country and Redwoods Tour
– Victoria V. on 07/16/2018

A lovely day spent visiting wine country and Muir Woods. Yesterday, we went on our tour to Muir Woods and Sonoma and Napa! It was a great way to spend the day and it was nice to have seen the woods and get a taste of Napa and Sonoma. Lars was our tour guide and he was excellent! He was very knowledgeable and made the drive go by quickly while we learned more about the history of the places we were staying! All in all I would highly recommend this trip, especially if you’re short on time and want to see wine country in a day!
– Nicholas S. on 07/16/2018

Tour was a really fun day. The Muir woods in the morning and the wine tasting destinations were great. So was the tour guide.
– Karen G. on 07/16/2018

– Sandra Z. on 07/13/2018

Great tour. Guide was excellent. Great wineries. The Muir woods experience was very scenic.
– Jon M. on 07/13/2018

Simply amazing! The tour itself was excellent with a great itinerary and very scenic views and lots and lots of great wine. Muir woods was breathtaking and an experience that everyone should have. Our tour guide, Roman, however, was what made the trip a true experience. The man was not only incredibly knowledgeable, but he also had us all laughing pretty much the whole day. Roman really knows his stuff and you can tell he loves his job. We made friends with people from literally all across the globe, from New Zealand to Toronto, to India and South Korea. Basically, it was my favorite day in San Francisco! Perfect trip! Thanks Roman!!
– Katrinia M. on 07/13/2018

Thank you Driver Kimberly! We enjoyed the Muir Woods, Napa & Sonoma tour on 7/7/18. Our driver was Kimberly and I have to give her EXTRA high praise for holding the front seats for anyone who experiences car/motion sickness - that'd be me. I couldn't have appreciated it more to be able to actually enjoy the trip instead of suffering through feeling sick the entire time. In addition, Kimberly made the tour enjoyable, sharing numerous facts & so much history of the areas we visited. Our only negative was that we thought we'd be visiting a sparkling winery and that didn't seem to happen. The last winery we visited was just ok.
