Experience Yosemite in a Day from San Francisco
Join us on this breathtaking tour of Yosemite National Park, whose towering granite peaks, cascading waterfalls and nature trails will be on awesome display. This award-winning tour spends the most time in Yosemite and is the only tour to have daily winter departures from San Francisco.
Your tour begins with a convenient hotel pick up in San Francisco. Sit back and enjoy the scenery as your guide explains how glitter in the American River sparked the California gold rush; what geological forces made Yosemite’s dramatic landscapes; and the role John Muir played in the formation of America’s first protected wilderness.
Be Blown Away by Awe-Inspiring Valley Views
After entering Yosemite National Park, we’ll make our way to a scene made famous by photographer Ansel Adams. Take a moment at Tunnel View. Capture yourself with El Capitan, Half Dome, Sentinel Dome, Glacier Point, and Cathedral Peak as your background.
Once you’ve had your fill of photographs from this perch overlooking the valley, the tour will arrange a memorable stop where you can get eye to eye with wispy Bridalveil Fall.
Have Your Own Yosemite Valley Adventure
After arriving at our main stop in Yosemite Valley, you will have about 3 hours for lunch and exploring on your own. The free time options include hiking to Yosemite Falls and Sentinel Meadow, biking to the Ahwahnee Hotel, or checking out the Ansel Adams Gallery and the Yosemite Wilderness Center.
Take a Moment with More Iconic Monuments
Your Yosemite experience stops next at El Capitan Meadow to learn more about the world’s largest granite monolith and its climbing culture. As we are leaving Yosemite Valley, we will make our final stop at Valley View which serves up a panoramic landscape framing the Merced River, El Capitan and the imposing spires of Cathedral Rocks.
By the end of the day, you’ll have experienced some of the most incredible landscapes in the world and captured memories to last a lifetime. You’ll have some time to reflect on the day as the tour stops for a dinner break (meal not included) before returning to San Francisco.
Between November and March, when the trail is not safe due to snow and ice accumulation, we substitute the hike with additional time in Yosemite Valley.
Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore Yosemite National Park with us.

What a great experience!

We toured Yosemite on one of the busiest days of the year -- Presidents' Day holiday when the firefall was expected. Our tour guide, Rob, was outstanding in adjusting to make sure we saw everything despite the craziness. My teenage daughter and I loved being driven around without worrying about traffic. And - best part - Rob was a great photographer and lined up all of the perfect "Ansel Adams" shots. Highly recommend as a great way to see Yosemite from San Francisco without any stress. Shout out to Rob for being such a great tour guide. This was an excellent experience all around. (Note: We didn't see the sequoias, but we booked the winter tour so we weren't expecting them.)

Great one day tour
Rob is the best tour guide I’ve had in the US. He is very friendly, knows the good spots for pictures, and seems to care about his work and also the tourists. If a spot is closed due to the bad weather, he will take you to another one that’s also beautiful to make up for it. It was a pleasant experience.

This was a perfect day for me!
Our tour driver kept us on schedule as much as was within his power and provided us lots of great information and first-hand experience. I would definitely recommend the Yosemite day trip to anyone who wants to see the park but has limited time to do so.

Wonderful winter day!
The driver was great and very informed about the area obviously you have to get pretty lucky with the weather but the time we went was very good and the scenery was amazing I also think that the bus was very catering to everyone.

We were with tour guide Ben to Yosemite winter one day tour from San Francisco
On time pickup and departing. Useful tips throughout the trip and also self walking tour around the park valley. Ben has sharp eyes spotting rock climbers who were climbing on El Capitan. We could hardly see them with our eyes 😆. Highly recommend on this.

Yosemite sells itself
As the guide stated, “Yosemite sells itself.” There’s no reason not to go. Ken was an excellent driver and that’s necessary navigating those windy roads. We were treated to wonderful commentary, ample opportunity for restroom and food breaks, and a smooth ride. The only disappointment was that we couldn’t see the sequoia groves because of the snow.

Yosemite on Christmas Eve was megical
We went to Yosemite on Christmas Eve and it was one of the best experiences we have ever had. The park is impressive, even in winter, and although it takes a while to get there, it's worth it. Keep in mind that at this time of year, you usually can't see the sequoia trees, because access is not possible.

We went to Yosemite on Christmas Eve and it was one of the best experiences we have ever had. The park is impressive, even in winter, and although it takes a while to get there, it's worth it. Keep in mind that at this time of year, you usually can't see the sequoia trees, because access is not possible. I recommend taking the two-day tour and staying overnight to enjoy the park (we only went for one day, and now I regret it). The best thing about the tour was the driver and guide, Rob - an excellent driver in foggy conditions and difficult roads, who knows and loves the park, gave us fantastic explanations and told us anecdotes. He didn't ask for a tip or say anything about it like other guides, some people tipped him and others didn't (please don't forget that this is customary in the USA, and leave a tip). Hopefully, we will meet him again on future tours.

One-day trip it definitely worth the money
You can not expect to see and learn all of a national park as big as Yosemite in one day. More so, due to weather some things might get not accessible on exactly the one day you pick. However, I still going give the five stars for the tour, because the company and the guide (Rob) visibly and honestly tried and succeeded to make up for all things we could not visit due to period of hard rains a week before.

Rob, the driver as well as tour guide is very passionate and knowledgeable.
I can feel that he truly love San Francisco and Yosemite, and would like to show us as much as he can. Thank you! Its a very memorable trip!

The average winter tour spends about 5 hours in Yosemite National Park, and yes – one day is absolutely worth it, especially with a guided tour!
Why one day works perfectly:
What you’ll accomplish in 5 hours:
- Photography at the most famous viewpoints
- Learning about Yosemite’s geology and history from our expert guide
- Visiting Yosemite Valley’s visitor centers and museums
- Enjoying the winter beauty without the stress of driving mountain roads
If you tried to drive yourself, you’d spend 2+ hours just on navigation and parking. Our guided approach means you see more and stress less, making every minute count in America’s most beautiful national park.

Our 1-day Yosemite tour picks up in San Jose in the South Bay and Livermore in the East Bay. If you’re staying near the San Francisco airport or another location away from the downtown area, we recommend using a ride-sharing service or public transportation to the Hilton Union Square hotel. Our pickup for that location is outside the Mason Street side entrance of the hotel.
Accommodation made easy: Since this is a day tour returning to San Francisco the same evening, you won’t need to book winter accommodation in Yosemite (which can be expensive and limited). You can stay in your comfortable San Francisco hotel and wake up in the city, then return for dinner and nightlife.
Multi-day options: If you prefer spending more time in the area, we also offer Yosemite overnight tours with accommodation at various lodges, from budget-friendly options to luxury stays. However, most visitors find our day tour captures

Your Yosemite tour will have about 5 stops for you to exit the vehicle and capture some incredible photographs, though weather and traffic conditions may require your driver to alter the itinerary slightly.
Our planned stops include the coolest winter highlights:
- Tunnel View: The famous Ansel Adams viewpoint with El Capitan, Half Dome, and Bridalveil Fall
- Bridalveil Falls: Get up close to this 620-foot waterfall (often partially frozen in winter!)
- Valley Lodge area: Perfect for warming up and grabbing snacks
- El Capitan Meadow: Yes, you can drive right to this iconic granite monolith viewpoint
- Yosemite Valley View lookout: Panoramic views of the Merced River and Cathedral Rocks
Winter photography bonuses:
- Snow-capped peaks create dramatic contrasts
- Fewer crowds mean unobstructed shots
- Unique ice formations on waterfalls
- Crystal-clear air for sharper mountain views
Note about Glacier Point: While Glacier Point Road is typically closed in winter due to snow, our Valley View stop offers equally stunning panoramic perspectives that many visitors never discover.

Absolutely! Winter visits to Yosemite offer a completely different but equally spectacular experience, and our winter tour is specifically designed to showcase the season’s unique advantages.
Why winter is amazing:
- Fewer crowds: Enjoy iconic viewpoints without fighting for photo spots
- Unique beauty: Snow-capped granite cliffs and partially frozen waterfalls
- Crystal clear air: Mountain views are often sharper in winter weather
- Cozy atmosphere: Warm up in visitor centers and learn about park history
Key differences from our summer tour:
- No Giant Sequoias hike: The trail to Tuolumne Grove is unsafe without special equipment when covered in snow and ice, so we substitute additional free time in Yosemite Valley
- More Valley focus: Extra time to explore museums, visitor centers, and Valley floor attractions
- Modified routes: We may adjust our path to accommodate snow, road closures, and detours on mountain roads
- Heated comfort: Our tour vehicles are climate-controlled for your comfort
The bottom line: Winter transforms Yosemite into a snow globe wonderland. While you trade the sequoia hike for more Valley exploration, you gain an intimate, peaceful experience of America’s most famous park.

We strongly recommend taking our guided tour, especially in winter when driving conditions can be challenging and unpredictable.
Winter driving challenges:
- Chain requirements: California law requires chains on many Sierra roads during winter storms
- Road conditions: Ice, snow, and limited visibility on mountain roads
- Parking: Limited winter parking fills up early, and lots may be icy
- Navigation: GPS can be unreliable in mountain areas with weather
Cost comparison breakdown:
- Driving yourself: Gas ($60-80), parking fees ($35), potential chain rentals ($50+), wear on your vehicle
- Our guided tour: All-inclusive price with no hidden costs or hassles
Time and stress factors:
- Self-driving: 4+ hours each way, plus navigation, parking, and walking from distant lots
- Our tour: Relax, learn from expert guides, and arrive refreshed at each stop
Entry logistics made simple:
- Individual visitors: Need timed entry reservations, risk sold-out dates
- Our tours: Pre-arranged group reservations and optimized entry times
The verdict: While driving gives you flexibility, our winter tour eliminates weather risks, saves money, and lets you actually enjoy the scenery instead of watching the road. Plus, our expert guides share stories and insights you’d never discover on your own.
