Experience Yosemite in a Day from San Jose
Join us on this breathtaking tour of Yosemite National Park, whose towering granite peaks, cascading waterfalls and nature trails will be on awesome display. This award-winning tour spends the most time in Yosemite and is the only tour to have winter departures from San Jose.
Sit back and enjoy the scenery as your guide explains how glitter in the American River sparked the California gold rush; what geological forces made Yosemite’s dramatic landscapes; and the role John Muir played in the formation of America’s first protected wilderness.
Be Blown Away by Awe-Inspiring Valley Views
After entering Yosemite National Park, we’ll make our way to a scene made famous by photographer Ansel Adams. Take a moment at Tunnel View. Capture yourself with El Capitan, Half Dome, Sentinel Dome, Glacier Point, and Cathedral Peak as your background.
Once you’ve had your fill of photographs from this perch overlooking the valley, the tour will arrange a memorable stop where you can get eye to eye with wispy Bridalveil Fall.
Have Your Own Yosemite Valley Adventure
After arriving at our extended stop in Yosemite Valley, you will have up to 3 hours for lunch and exploring on your own. The free time options include hiking to Yosemite Falls and Sentinel Meadow, biking to the Ahwahnee Hotel, or checking out the Ansel Adams Gallery and the Yosemite Wilderness Center.
Take a Moment with More Iconic Monuments
Your Yosemite experience stops next at El Capitan Meadow to learn more about the world’s largest granite monolith and its climbing culture. As we are leaving Yosemite Valley, we will make our final stop at Valley View which serves up a panoramic landscape framing the Merced River, El Capitan and the imposing spires of Cathedral Rocks.
By the end of the day, you’ll have experienced some of the most incredible landscapes in the world and captured memories to last a lifetime. You’ll have some time to reflect on the day as the tour stops for a dinner break (meal not included) before returning to San Jose.
Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore Yosemite National Park with us.

Amazing!
The guide was super passionate and super nice. He taught us a lot, a lot of stories and all with humor. The bus ride is very long even if the guide does everything to make it enjoyable: stories, culture, music, jokes and even movies. Otherwise, the locations chosen are truly amazing. Yosemite Park is unique and I think this tour really captures all of its splendour. My only regret is that I didn't have time to stop more (but hey, it's the right time not to come back too late). What I preferred was the view of the tunnel as well as the view from below of the valley (last stop before departure). Also, the lunch spot in front of the waterfalls is just unique. As for the agency that supports, they are top, available and really take you to the hotel and bring you back there: which is comfortable anyway.

Awesome guide!
I went on the one day tour to Yosemite NP with Denise. She’s awesome! Was a long day but her enthusiasm never falters and she’s so helpful taking photos for us and giving as lots of info about each area we drove through. She made the trip ten times better than it would have been otherwise. She also made sure we had enough time at each stop and even added in a few extra stops as the park was quiet as it was a Monday. Bus is nice and the park is obviously stunning.

Great Experience
Great Experience! Picked us up close to our hotel. Great Tour Guide-Roman. He was quite witty and seemed to really love California and it's culture and beauty. The only downside to the tour is you don't get to stay in one place for too long. Which for me translated to not trying as many wines as I would have liked to at the first two wineries. I understand why though. Its an ALL DAY tour. You get to see sooooo much. Big Bang For Your Buck!!! Would use Extranomical Again and would (and already have!) recommend to family and friends traveling to SF!

Lovely time!
My husband and I took a day tour to Yosemite. Our guide was Roman, a chirpy carefree fella. He talks a lot, but that's because he knows the place and also because he believes that each one is a piece of this huge beautiful and natural creation. He is not only informative but entertaining at times. :) And he makes sure that you not only see the sites but the details too. Thank you, Roman, for a lovely time at Yosemite! You made the difference. We will be back and we'll definitely look for you! :)

The main difference is that the trail to the Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias is covered in snow and ice, making it unsafe without special equipment. Therefore, we substitute additional free time in Yosemite Valley for you to explore. There may be other modifications to the tour route to accommodate snow, road closures and detours on Yosemite’s mountain roads.
-
Winter weather in the Sierra Mountains can be dramatic and unpredictable. Since you will be spending 4-5 hours outdoors enjoying nature, we recommend that you dress in layers and wear warm, comfortable shoes or hiking boots. Bring a heavy water-resistant jacket, camera or phone, 1-liter water bottle, warm hat, sturdy umbrella (if the forecast calls for rain or snow) and some cash or a credit card for meals, snacks and souvenirs.
-
The Tuolumne Grove hike is unsafe without special equipment when covered in snow and ice. So, we generally do not attempt it on tours from November to March, substituting additional time in Yosemite Valley.
-
The average winter tour spends about 5 hours in Yosemite National Park.
-
Our stops in Yosemite will be mostly flat and cleared of snow and ice. You will not need special equipment if wearing sturdy hiking boots or shoes with tread.
-
At the present time, we have only one pickup location in San Jose.
-
A 3rd party shuttle will pick up in San Jose and transport you to Livermore to meet our tour leader and vehicle. The transfer takes 40 to 60 minutes depending on traffic.
-
The Signia by Hilton has a parking garage but it is a bit expensive. We suggest trying the Impark Lot #367 at 285 S Market St just a block from the Hilton pickup location.
-
Look for an SUV with identification as Bay Area Airport Shuttle. If there are fewer than 6 passengers making the transfer to Livermore, we will send you a link to an Uber whose location you can track on your phone.
