What time does the tour leave?

The tour departs daily at 10 am (year-round). We ask for all guests to arrive at least 30 minutes early in order to complete their paperwork and get fitted to their bikes. The tour is approximately 15 miles and lasts 3-4 hours, with a refreshment break along the way. The tour departs from our Fisherman’s Wharf Tour Center, located at 2661 Taylor Street.

We have young children, can they do these rides?

Every child rides at a different level. We offer something for everyone, which is fantastic news! A six-month-old child up to a strong toddler can fit in the baby seat, while 1-2 toddlers and their belongings can be transported in the trailer. Using a tag-along or tandem bicycle, adults can ride with kids. Both options are perfect for beginning cyclists who only pedal when they feel like it.

Is a helmet included with my rental?

Absolutely! California helmet law is mandatory under the age of 18.

Helmets, front camera bags, bells, maps & map holders, water bottle holders, locks, and thorough map assistance are all FREE extras that come with all bike rentals. Long-distance, higher-end bikes have a tube, a pump, and tools for fixing flats.

Weather in San Francisco can vary from neighborhood to neighborhood! Weather can be sunny one minute then foggy the next- and it’s almost always sunny and ten degrees warmer in Sausalito! We always recommend layers: dress comfortably enough for your bike ride but also consider the variations in our weather. Also, the bikes have rear racks & Bungees to strap down any extra layers. Ponchos for rainy weather are available for purchase at our shops.

The up to 3 hour tour begins in Fisherman’s Wharf at our 2661 Taylor Street Tour Center. After a proper bike fitting where guests are outfitted with a current year model bike with front handlebar bag, rear gear rack, and takeaway map. Daily Guided tour guests depart & follow the guide along the San Francisco waterfront past Aquatic Park, Fort Mason, the Marina, and the Presidio, through Crissy Field and to Fort Point.

Riders cross the Golden Gate Bridge on a wide bike path, then through Vista Point to Old Fort Baker. The tour finalizes in Sausalito where riders can enjoy the shops, the many art galleries, and the delicious food. Guests may return right after the tour completes on a ferry (tickets purchased onsite) or choose to keep the bike until closing hours, enjoying a BONUS BIKE RIDE.

Description

Once equipped, your San Francisco Guided Bike Tour will depart and you will follow the tour guide along the San Francisco Waterfront. On the way you will pass by Aquatic Park, Fort Mason, the Marina and the Presidio through Chrissy Field and on towards Fort Point. You will then ride across the Golden Gate Bridge on a wide bicycle path only used for cyclists. You will ride through Vista Point to Old Fort Baker and the tour will end when you reach Sausalito. In Sausalito, enjoy the local shops, delicious restaurants and a variety of art galleries this quaint little town has to offer.

When you have had your fill and bought your souvenirs, you can catch a ferry back to Fisherman’s Wharf (additional cost). Your bike rental is also valid for a full 24 hours so you can either hold on to it and take another little bike ride in San Francisco or if the hills are too much for you, you can return the bike before closing hours to the Fisherman’s Wharf where the tour began.

Every tour includes a bicycle helmet, bicycle lock, map, map holder, bike bell, handle bar bag, water bottle cage, and rear rack with bungee.

Ferry tickets and re-fueling drinks are available upon pick-up for a perfect day of biking the San Francisco Bay.
