Tour Bus Driver and Guide

This team member is responsible for the safe, entertaining, and efficient transportation for groups of 6 to 41 guests on guided tours between San Francisco and many attractions around the Bay Area.

The ideal candidate for our driver/guide positions:

  • Experience as a driver and guide
  • Must be able to work weekends, Saturdays and/or Sundays
  • Able to handle long shifts such as Yosemite tours
  • Big personality and strong communication skills, great sense of humor a definite plus!
  • Demonstrated good judgment in high-pressure situations
  • Flexible and able to work weekends and holidays
  • Works well with others
  • Minimum of two years of commercial vehicle with passenger endorsement experience
  • Able to pass DOT drug test
  • Safe driving record
  • Live in San Francisco Bay Area

Travel Consultant / Customer Service Agent

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Drive inbound phone sales by quickly and effectively getting to the root of a prospective customer’s travel needs
  • Correctly answer phone calls, emails and livechat questions from customers concerning our tours and services
  • Book, process, and confirm phone and internet reservations
  • Complete daily tasks to ensure passengers get the best possible experience during all stages of contact from initial phone call to post-tour interactions

Job Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Background in sales and customer service
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Maintain destination expertise to successfully sell and upsell and provide knowledgeable service to the customer
  • Multitasking abilities and attention to detail with the ability to utilize basic computer skills while talking on the phone
  • Strong problem solving and sound decision-making skills within established guidelines
  • Proficient and comfortable with office equipment (Computer skills – Microsoft Office, Powerpoint etc)
  • Must be willing to work some weekends and holidays
  • Must be willing to work different shifts as our office is open 5:30 am to 9 pm daily
  • Positive interpersonal relationship-building skills with other company staff

Education and / or Work Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in sales and customer service


  • An equivalent combination of sales or customer experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ability to speak the second language is a plus but is not a requirement for the job.

Our company operates 7 days a week, from 5:30 am to 9:00 pm. Thus we need a candidate that is flexible with hours and aware of the fact that working at a tour company means to occasionally work on public holidays and weekends.

Marketing & Sales Trainee/Internship

Description: Extranomical Tours is offering a trainee/internship position in the field of Marketing & Sales. We are a San Francisco tour operator looking for someone who wants to become an active member of our Marketing & Sales team and also provides administrative support to the office if needed. Our Marketing & Sales Department promotes our business and keeps close relations with current sales agents. It also focuses on constantly creating new business contacts and finding ways to market our company and tour products as well as to improve these.

This trainee/internship provides a good mix of in-office and on the job training. Candidates will be expected to work 40 hours per week. We encourage international applicants who are qualified for J1 internships. Candidates must display a high level of personal responsibility and must be able to work both in a team environment and independently. The successful trainee/internship candidate will think “outside the box” and be a creative problem solver. Fluency in English is required. Candidates with foreign language fluency are highly regarded.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Experience in marketing and/or sales
  • Good written and oral communication in English
  • Ability to learn and work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Be able to think outside the box and come up with new creative ideas
  • Ability to be persistent and follow up to make sure tasks get done on time
