Day 1 - Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Tour

Towering granite cliffs and Giant Sequoias headline this one-day Yosemite National Park tour from San Francisco but our expert guides will make sure you don’t miss the history, geology and wildlife that make Yosemite Valley the jewel of the U.S. National Parks.

Travel and Hospitality Awards named this the best Yosemite tour from San Francisco for its jaw-dropping natural beauty. The tour has earned more 5-star guest reviews because we include the Giant Sequoias among the attractions in Yosemite Valley.

Your Yosemite Giant Sequoias Tour begins with a pickup in San Francisco, then heads east crossing through California’s fertile San Joaquin Valley and into the rocky Sierra Nevada mountains. See 170-year-old mining towns and learn the colorful history of the region.

Soon after entering Yosemite, you will experience the solitude of the Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias. You won’t doubt for a second that these are the largest living creatures on the planet. No picture does them justice, but that should not keep you from trying!

In winter, when conditions on the Tuolumne Grove trail are snow-covered or unsafe, we substitute this experience with other attractions. See our Yosemite Winter Tour itinerary here.

Your heart (and cameras) will be racing as you enter Yosemite Valley and enjoy a stop at Inspiration Point (also known as Tunnel View). Take a moment and then some selfies with El CapitanHalf Dome and Bridalveil Falls as your backdrop.

During your free time in the valley, grab a bite to eat at the Valley Lodge food court, check out the souvenirs at the gift shop, take a quick hike around Sentinel Meadow, or see the towering Yosemite Falls.

Special requests? Help with photos? Just ask. Last year, Extranomical earned more 5-star reviews at Yosemite National Park than anyone. Guests can enjoy our signature Yosemite One Day Tour 365 days a year.

We’re so confident that our Yosemite Valley Tour will amaze all year round—it’s backed by a Satisfaction Guarantee.

*During Winter Months*

Winter clothes, especially shoes or boots with rubber soles and treads are recommended for your Yosemite National Park and Giant Sequoias trip.

Note: The Giant Sequoias hike on the Yosemite Giant Sequoia Tour is dependent on snow levels and trail conditions and may not be available from October to May.

Day 2 - Alcatraz Morning Tour

Make your way to Pier 33 where you’ll board the ferry to start your Alcatraz Island tour! Local public transportation - F Streetcar, BART-Embarcadero station. The ferry ride from San Francisco to the island takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Once you arrive on the island, a brief presentation of the island's history and guide to touring the prison is given. An audio tour is provided on entrance of the cell house that gives a recorded commentary from former inmates, prison guards and prison wardens. It takes roughly between 2 and 2 1/2 hours to do the full tour and just enough time to grab a souvenir. The ferry leaves roughly every thirty minutes. Learn interesting facts about the island, such as that Alcatraz was not only used as a prison but also as a harbor defense fort during the civil war and before then, was America's first lighthouse on the West Coast.
