Great time and appreciate the stop at the lookout
– John T. on 02/16/2018
The entire day was a great experience and you could not ask for a better tour guide. Aoka showed us a great time with good wine, good food and an awesome ride to the Muir Woods.
– Dianne M. on 12/13/2017
Our guide, Don, was great! For that extra star add lunch at a wine yard restaurant and better ac in the van
– JCR J. on 12/13/2017
A very enjoyable day with Don acting as a knowledgable and considerate guide. A variety of vineyards, from boutique to a larger corporate enterprise. Don organised a very nice picnic lunch, including a good Pinot Noir to share. He listened and where we wanted change (we suggested a particular vineyard) he adjusted his tour plan to accommodate this. Back to San Fransisco at a reasonable hour so a definite recommendation if you enjoy wine and would like to get a feel of the Napa Valley/Sonoma regions.
– Sandi and David .. on 12/13/2017
The group was early so Frank stopped at some viewpoints where we got some fabulous shots of the Golden Gate Bridge The wineries chosen were unique and I tasted some of the best wines ever at Nicholson Ranch wineries....everyone in the group loved the Chardonnay The lunch experience was a little underwhelming although definitely enough food...maybe some paper plates and forks for the fruit would have helped However the wines and total experience Was fabulous!
– Richie n. on 12/13/2017
Awesome tour !! Small and intimate!!!!!
– Valerie F. on 10/29/2016
This wine tour was outstanding! Don did an AMAZING job of accommodating everyone's requests. Don was very punctual, and expected the same from everyone in the group so that he would be able to accommodate all of the requests. He was knowledgeable about wine, and his stories were interesting. Our group was really fun! I highly recommend this Wine Lover's Wine Tour!
– Damian D. on 07/28/2016
Vlad was a fantastic guide and it really was a great tour.
– Joni F. on 06/07/2016
Frank was great! Personable, informed and knowledgeable, he took us to 4 vineyards, one of which we requested. A great time was had by all!
– Ken K. on 05/15/2016
Everything was great except for the vehicle. It was a little uncomfortable and hot inside.
– Allison K. on 11/02/2015
Phil was an excellent tour guide. He gave us a brief overview of the city as we were heading to the valley and was very knowledgeable about the area. He went above and beyond when he decided to squeeze in an extra winery for us all that had free tastings. In addition, he was courtesy, kind and had a great personality. I would recommend Phil as a driver any-day!
– Peggy F. on 09/02/2015
The wine lovers tour was our favorite part of our trip to San Francisco. Our driver and guide Don, did a wonderful job and was very knowledgeable.
I highly recommend Extramomical Tours.
– Connie & Ray B. on 08/03/2015
Visiting a friend in Alameda and she booked this tour. Could not have made a better pick!! Phil was a great tour guide and provided a lot of information during the tour. He accommodated as many request as he was able and the entire day was a blast. Total of 8 riders giving the opportunity to get to know each one. So much better than the coach tour we took a few years back. Would recommend this to anyone who would like to tour wine country with a personal touch. Great work Phil!!! Ray and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting with you and appreciate your professionalism!!!
– Sue C. on 07/14/2015
My husband and I booked the luxury wine country tour and had a great time! Our tour guide Frank was very pleasant and full of interesting facts about Napa, Sonoma and the City of San Francisco. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and would highly recommend this tour. The small group was perfect for this type of tour.
– Janet L. on 06/24/2015
Phil was a terrific guide, funny knowledgeable and professional. I had a wonderful day!
– Norinao W. on 05/05/2015
Grate tour! And, kindness guidance and drop off schedule.
– Mary D. on 04/14/2015
Where do I begin? This was a fantastic tour! It is done as a small group (our tour had 8). You get to make suggestions on wineries to visit and then the tour guide lines up the reservations for the day balancing the requests with what makes the most sense geographically and the availability for the winery to accommodate the group. Don, our fantastic tour guide, accommodated 3 of our requests, as well as some from the other guests & then filled in with a suggestion of his own.
I can't say enough wonderful things about Don. He was the perfect mix of information, accommodation, charm & a little bit camp director keeping everyone on time. We started our day at Jacuzzi, a delightful & beautiful winery in Carneros in Sonoma county that specializes in Italian wine. We split off a honeymoon couple from our group so that they could go to Stag's Leap, which could not accommodate all of us. Next up was Silverado, an outstanding winery & setting. We stopped for lunch at V. Sattui, a charming winery & setting. Then we went to Frog's Leap, another outstanding winery in a gorgeous setting. The last stop of the day was originally going to be Inglenook but Don accommodated our request to change that to Domaine Carneros & magically got them to accommodate our group with a reservation at the last minute. It was just outstanding! Their chateau like winery was simply gorgeous! Sitting out on their patio drinking their incredible sparkling wines looking over the hills & vineyards was the absolutely perfect way to wind up the day.
Our tour guide Don made the drive between the wineries very entertaining interspersing great information with a wine themed music track. If you want to have a tour to remember & talk about for a long time, take this tour!
– Richard S. on 01/18/2015
Excellent tour! Frank our driver/guide pulled up to our hotel right on time greated us by name. He pulled up driving a black mini bus not a 15 passenger van. The mini bus was tall enought that a 6'3" tall person could stand up with out ducting, plenty of leg room in first row of seats but back rows where tight. Sinec we where the last pickup Frank spent about 5 to 10 minutes with all the members of tours to decide upon which wine regions and winerys to go to. He reminded us the number of winerys we could goto depended on the distance we had to drive between them so his recomendation was to focus on a region and advised again on tasting fees. We all decided we wanted to goto lesser known winerys in the Russian River Area. On the way Frank gave out interesting information about wine and the area we where headed he would skip on some stuff since we all had been on these kinds of tours and tastings before. Frank is very accommodating in where you want to go and what kinds of information he was giving out, it was not a memorized Disney speil. The wineries that we went too where all very nice and not busy our group was the only ones there at most.
The last winery Frank had to call ahead to make an apointment for our visit. Each winery had a diffent experience from luxory tasting room to converted garage. Frank gave us tips on what to look for and what to expect at each winery. Lunch was on our own and Frank stoped at a country/general store in the Dry Creek area that had old world charm and a great food. This was the best wine tour we had taken. Will definitly book again!
– Sara S. on 12/01/2014
Anthony was an awesome tour guide! We made it to 5 different wineries + a lunch stop in Sonoma Plaza, which has lots of tasting rooms to enjoy over lunch. Anthony was open to stopping at as many of the requested wineries as possible, and he also introduced us to some great new wineries as well! To top it off, he dropped us off in Sausalito at the end of the tour, as requested, and we were able to spend a couple of hours exploring Sausalito before heading back to SF on the ferry. Loved the customizable and small group nature of this tour, and would definitely do it again...but only if Anthony is our tour guide! :-)
– Lauren K. on 11/18/2014
I would recommend this tour to anyone. Frank was very knowledgable and a great host of wine country! Glad a friend recommended this tour!
– Diana M. on 11/01/2014
Anthony is amazing, we had a glorious time and met wonderful people. The wine was great too!!!!
– Rachel C. on 10/31/2014
Anthony was just fantastic, warm and welcoming, knowledgeable, fun and friendly.
– Kristen F. on 10/28/2014
Tony was awesome!!! My friend required extra attention due to need for wheelchair accessibility and Tony was extremely accommodating and made sure she felt comfortable throughout the tour. We had so much fun, thanks to his enthusiasm, fabulous planning, and great sense of humor...not to mention AWESOME accent! I have already recommended this tour and Tony to friends and family in the Bay area and beyond!
– Steve T. on 10/28/2014
– Ehren B. on 10/08/2014
Tony was a phenominal tour guide; friendly, knowledgable and funny. My only complaint about this tour is that we booked it over the less expensive tours because it suggested the potential of 6 vineyards, and I don't see the possiblity that they could ever accommodate more than 4. Tony was great at picking a great variety that met the groups expectations of everything from a commercial vineyard (Domaine Chandon) to a perfectly intimate wine tour at a smaller estate to a guy's personal vineyard. I LOVED it, and we never would've found some of these places ourselves. If you want a more popular vineyard though (like Buena Vista which looks awesome), I recommend you specify your request when you book the tour because the vineyards often do not accept short-notice tours. The Luxury vehicle was really nice and lunch in Sonoma was a great opportunity to try more wines and cheeses if you eat quickly. Thanks Tony for a great trip!
– Paul and Judi K. on 10/05/2014
Our wine lover's tour was everything we hoped, visiting the smaller boutique wineries where we could taste and purchase wines not available in stores. Our tour guide Anthony was very informative about the area and had a great sense of humour. He made the tour a lot of fun. When traffic came to a standstill, he waited a short time to see if it would clear and then decided to turn back rather than wasting time stuck in a traffic jam. This took us to the beautiful Chandon winery to taste some sparkling wines. He then arranged a full winery tour at Nicholson Ranch. This was an amazing tour with great wines. Our last winery, Peter Cellars, was also very enjoyable. What a great way to end the day, with our group sitting outside in Adirondack chairs, tasting some great wines from this small winery. As if the day wasn't already amazing, we stopped on the way back at the Marin headlands view point for spectacular views of the city, bay and Golden Gate Bridge. On a final note, the group size of 12 was so much nicer than a big bus and the tour van was very comfortable.
– William C. on 09/29/2014
Antony made our trip fun . This was the best time I had being there. I would try and get Anthony again if we come back
– Emily M. on 09/29/2014
Absolute best tour with best tour guide!!!! Had a great time. Would highly recommend this tour!
– denise w. on 09/29/2014
Excellent tour. Anthony was very informative and entertaining
– Carl G. on 09/19/2014
We went on two different tours in two days; both were fantastic. The wine tour with Anthony was great! He was the best guide...very friendly, entertaining, and overall extremely pleasant....seemed like an old friend. We really enjoyed his English accent and sense of humor. I would recommend him to friends and relatives visiting San Francisco. Same goes for Frank who took us to Muir Woods. He was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly....another old-friend-like type of guy. Both of them deserve raises! The prices were right, too. We met some nice new friends on the wine tour!
– Maleenee B. on 07/08/2014
This tour was perfect! We visited 5 wineries and a good variety from small and personal to grand and beautiful. The smaller tour size allowed us to visit places we would not have otherwise been able, and made lunch and transitioning easier and more enjoyable. And most of all, Don, our guide, was so knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic, and organized.
– alex w. on 06/25/2014
Was a great tour, can only compare to what we have experienced back home in though.
The tours at home include wine tasting fees, and one thing that I like and missed was specific group service, where we would be seated down at each winery and looked after specifically as a group booking private from the "open public"
But by in large was a great by Don, friendly and showed us town and country highlights.
– Manny B. on 06/24/2014
The trip was amazing! Don was so knowledgeable and really did everything he could to accommodate our group. The wines were delicious and the location chosen for lunch was exceptional!
– Siobhan G. on 06/13/2014
I really enjoyed the whole day. Don was very knowledgeable and clearly well liked and known at the places we visited. There were 8 of us in total which was the perfect size and allowed for us all to interact. Lovely group of people.
The places we visited were a nice cross section of examples of Californian wine makers.
– David P. on 05/29/2014
Marc was a great tour guide. He gave interesting facts about California and was pleasant with everyone the whole time. Way to go Marc! You're Awesome!
– Randy Y. on 05/05/2014
The tour went along very smoothly with very good transitions from one stop to the next.
– melissa g. on 04/06/2014
Loved the wineries we went to and all the info provided by Don.
– Francois E. on 01/13/2014
Andy was a terrific guide. He knows a lot and was super kind to us.
– Dana R. on 10/22/2013
Our guide (Dan?) Was fun and informative. We only hit one of our requested stops, but he let us pick up an order from Madonna along the way which made my mom very happy! The 3 small stops where mainly red wines. I did purchase at our second stop a marvelous white wine which I had shipped to a friends in WA. We were quite late in returning to San Fran, mainly due to the traffic (BART Strike). Dan's driving skills are amazing with the amount of crazy drivers on the road that night.
– Marin Y. on 09/14/2013
Don's selection of winery was excellent! I have come to like wine more!
– Thomas B. on 08/13/2013
Our tour guide, Jan, was able to taylor our tour so we could stop at 6 different wineries.
– Jennifer S. on 07/15/2013
We loved the flexibility to plan our own itinerary based on what the group wanted to do and see on the tour.
– Don and Pam F. on 05/28/2012
Variation among wineries visited and Curt's ability to share both history and "fun facts" while traveling between sites.
– Brandi C. on 03/05/2012
The stops were varied, and the last stop for some bubbly was a prefect ending. Andy, our driver was friendly, down to earth and formative. My husband and I look forward to returning.
– Michael H. on 02/03/2012
I thought Curt did an excellent job. He took us to some small wineries that he was used to going to and he also tried to fit in our requests. We managed to fit in 6 wine tastings which exceeded my expectations. But in order to make it to 6 places, we were out longer than I expected. I give Curt thumbs up for taking the extra time to help us enjoy our day.
– Kathryn J. on 11/28/2011
I wanted to avoid the big box store kind of tour. This was exactly what I wanted. All our stops were good ones. Chris knew what he was talking about and had just the right mixture of guide and leave-alone-to-enjoy in his approach. We were lucky to have just seven people, so we could move quickly. Everyone was considerate of others' time, and Chris saw to that.
– Mayumi M. on 09/14/2011
The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. I noticed that he was smiling to everyone all the time. Great customer service!
