Sonoma County Finds a Way to Boost Tourism

Many out of state tourists visit Sonoma County each year with the intention of visiting their favorite winery. Due to the economic downturn less out of town tourists are traveling to wine country but more local residents are taking advantage of their hometown by vacationing locally. The money saving options of a weekend vacation is really drawing Northern California residents to wine country.

Sonoma County supervisors have seen a drastic increase in local tourism and have taken measures to continue the momentum. Wineries aren’t the only Sonoma County operations seeing an increase in local foot traffic. Parks and bicycle rental facilities have also seen a steady increase in business. Many companies are advertising ‘green’ vacation packages and giving local residents discounts. Sonoma County is not the only region noticing an increase in local vacationers and many other areas are also offering resident discounts and local vacation packages.

Cancellations or changes must be made 72 hours before trip departure to get partial refund, or at least 8 days in advance if the reservation includes hotel accommodation. Airport shuttle transfers and Alcatraz Tours are non-refundable. Cancellations and changes are subject to a 10% or $25 fee, whichever is greater. As a courtesy to your fellow passengers, it’s important to be on time. If you are late or miss your scheduled pickup time for the tour please contact our office immediately at 415-357-0700. An alternative pick up location may be arranged at customer expense, subject to availability. Any guest who misses their tour entirely will forfeit their seat on the tour. No refunds will be issued.
