Our tours usually depart from San Francisco, but with a private charter, we can pick you up in San Jose. Muir Woods is home of the spectacular Coastal Redwood Sequoias, the tallest and oldest species of trees in the world! On our Muir Woods tour from San Francisco, you will get to walk or hike at your own pace and exploire the breathtaking Sequoia trees. You can walk up the sides of the valley and get near the top of the trees, or you can stroll along the mostly flat valley floor along Redwood Creek. The afternoons are often filled with warm breezes and clean, fresh, air filled with the scent of the Bay Laurel trees covered in moss beneath the high canopy of the Redwoods.

You will spend over 1 hour in Muir Woods, which will give you enough time to enjoy the beauty of the Coastal Sequoia Redwood trees. After the Muir Woods tour, we will stop by the Bayside town of Sausalito. On our Sausalito tour, you will enjoy the views of the San Francisco Bay and visit the shops, art galleries, and ice creameries of Sausalito. Our Muir Woods and Sausalito tour will then head back to San Francisco, crossing the Golden Gate on the way back. You can also choose to stay longer and take a ferry from Sausalito on your own (ferry ticket not included).

Vehicle Safety Inspection: Safety is paramount in our industry and one of the biggest safety components in the tours we provide are our vehicles. Extranomical's fleet includes vans and mini-buses. Our vehicles are inspected constantly; first in the morning when the tour guide begins his/her day; second throughout the day the tour guide is verifying fluid levels, tire pressure and the general operation of the vehicle is monitored throughout the day. The vehicles are also inspected regularly (at least every 10,000) miles by our vehicle maintenance staff and also by independent certified mechanics during their routine maintenance. If that were not all, we also go through a thorough inspection performed by the California Highway Patrol once a year.
Tour Guide Training & Substance Abuse Testing: Our tour guides are extensively trained on both safety driving techniques and on providing an informative and interesting tour. Before being hired, we test our guides on safety driving in realistic situations around San Francisco they are also tested through an oral presentation of the material they will present to make sure that they provide a safe, knowledgeable and interesting tour.
