Your Yosemite overnight tour from San Francisco begins with a pickup at your hotel, then heads east crossing through California’s fertile San Joaquin (aka Central) Valley and into the Sierra Nevada mountains. See 150-year-old mining towns and learn the colorful history of the region.
Arrive in Yosemite National Park and experience the solitude of the Tuolumne Grove giant sequoias, the largest living things on the Earth. Enter Yosemite Valley and enjoy multiple stops and breathtaking views. See Inspiration Point, El Capitan, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls and Bridalveil Falls. Venture out and explore the Valley on your own – or make your way to your accommodation.
Travel back in time at the Big Trees Lodge, a National Historic Landmark just minutes from the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias within Yosemite National Park. Exuding Victorian Charm, it is the perfect place to get away from it all and relax after an exciting day exploring Yosemite Valley.
On the lodge's veranda, sit back on one of the property's classic Adirondack chairs and take in the views or meet new people. Rooms are decorated in authentic period decor with the choice of private bath. With all the activities and amenities within the property including golf course, hiking trails, outdoor swimming pool and in the evenings wind down around the piano for musical performances; when you get to your room you will be exhausted after your fun filled day.
On the next day, check out of your hotel and enjoy some more free time in Yosemite before you, meet another tour group at the same time and place and finish the day with them and return to San Francisco. Alternatively, if you choose to book the “Extravaganza” upgrade, you will have breakfast at your hotel included. The Extravaganza option also comes with the Yosemite Valley Floor tour; you will experience a two-hour tour Valley tour led by park rangers or Yosemite Naturalists in an open-air tram during the warm months and in the colder months from the comfort of a heated motor coach with panoramic windows. You will learn about the history, flora and fauna throughout the park.
Note: If you are not staying at one of the hotels within Yosemite Valley, please only bring with you what you can easily carry as there are limited (or no) storage options. You may store your luggage at the Extranomical office during your stay in Yosemite, if necessary.
ALERT FOR YOSEMITE TOUR DATES BEFORE JUNE 1, 2017: A road closure of Hwy 120 has made road to Giant Sequoias inaccessible from the valley. We expect the road to be repaired soon. Please contact guest services for updates.
