Yosemite Lodge at the Falls Unveils Eco-Friendly Guest Rooms

Two guest room prototypes have been unveiled at Yosemite Lodge at the Falls in Yosemite National Park. The Lodge is a popular year-round tourist destination located in the heart of Yosemite Village. The two guest rooms are the first of their kind in Yosemite National Park and are part of a larger plan to transform The Lodge into a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and Energy Star certified property.

The environmentally friendly room design was created by Kollath McCann Creative Services and incorporates both environmentally friendly materials as well as locally based manufacturing to create the most comfortable and well designed guest rooms possible. A few of the elements that make up the prototype guest rooms at Yosemite Lodge at the Falls is recycled glass counter tops manufactured outside of San Francisco, 85% recycled paper insulation, low VOC paint and carpeting made from recycled plastic bottles and rubber tires. The Yosemite Lodge at the Falls aspires to be one of the first LEED Certified lodging facilities in Yosemite National Park and through guest feedback and suggestions concerning the new prototyped rooms The Lodge is following the right path.
