Wine Industry Advisers Create a Wine Industry M&A Firm

On Thursday, three experienced wine industry advisers announced that they would be joining forces to launch a merger and acqusitions firm based out of Santa Rosa. This new firm, Zepponi & Co., will consist of: Mario Zepponi, an industry attorney, Joseph W. Ciatti, a wine grape and bulk wine broker, and Matt Franklin, a former investment banker.

Mr. Zepponi brings a lot to the table, as he is founder of the Zepponi Group, a boutique winery and vineyard investment brokerage. Prior to founding Zepponi Group, Mr. Zepponi was a partner at Beyers Costin PC law firm in Santa Rosa, where he represented sellers, purchasers and operators of wineries, vineyards and estates throughout California. Joseph W. Ciatti, creator of Ciatti Co., grew his company into a global brokerage of grapes and bulk wines. Ciatti comes to the firm with over 40 years of experience and a well-established wine industry network that includes wineries in Oregon and Washington. Matt Franklin served as managing director while employed at the Demeter group, where he offered investment services to buyers and sellers in the food and beverage industry.

The new firm will be located at the Beyers Costin firm until they move into a separate office sometime next year. Fall is a great time to visit wineries in Napa and Sonoma Valley and your visit helps support local businesses like Zepponi & Co.
