Located near the southern most point of the Veeder Hills is the Hess Collection Vineyard. On the 285 rocky acres the Hess Collection winery calls home, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc are sustained. These varietals thrive on the poor soil and cool climate and create a unique flavor that can only be found in the Napa Valley. When taking a wine country tour be sure to savor the winding drive to the Hess Collection winery before sampling the wine and examining the fine art.

There are few modern art collections that rival the collection of Donald Hess. The collection has been built by Donald Hess whose collecting style is solely based on personal interest. It is a rare occurence for a visitor to the Napa Valley to view art in such multidisciplined genres as those located at the Hess Collection winery. This collection of art ranges from Photo-Realist painting representative of Jan Vermeer to Abstract Expressionism to modern woven sculpture. The collection ranges many decades and encompasses artists from all over the world. This collection is a great beginning to a day full of art, nature and of course wine!

Airport shuttle transfers and Alcatraz Tours are non-refundable. Cancellations and changes are subject to a 10% or $25 fee, whichever is greater. As a courtesy to your fellow passengers, it’s important to be on time. If you are late or miss your scheduled pickup time for the tour please contact our office immediately at 415-357-0700. An alternative pick up location may be arranged at customer expense, subject to availability. Any guest who misses their tour entirely will forfeit their seat on the tour. No refunds will be issued.
