Sterling Vineyards in Calistoga, CA has begun its seventh annual Film Screenings to benefit the Stars and Vines Fund. With the co-sponsorship of NBC Universal, Sterling Vineyards will feature classic and "neo classic" films in a variety of genres. This event offers the wine country tourist a chance to relax and sip a glass of Sterling Vineyard's wine after a long day of wine country touring.
The film screenings begin August 1st with 'Shadow of a Doubt', one of Alfred Hitchcock's dramatic thrillers set in the wine country town of Santa Rosa. The screenings will continue on August 15th with 'The Big Clock' starring Ray Milland, Charles Laughton and Maureen O'Hara. American Graffiti is featured on August 29th starring Richard Dreyfus, Ron Howard and Harrison Ford. The summer film screening season concludes on September 12th with Apollo 13 starring Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon and Ed Harris.
Wine and concessions are offered at each screening and it's suggested that audience members dress in warm layers, bring blankets and low beach chairs. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 16. Most films are rated for informed family viewing, although it is suggested that parents review the MPAA in advance of attendance.
