San Francisco Vintner's Market

Aug
23 2009

The Fort Mason Center will hold a new kind of wine tasting and shopping experience twice a year with the first bi-annual event scheduled for November 14-15, 2009. The Vintner's Market was created by Cornelius Geary, Founder and CEO of the San Francisco Vintner's Market, as an opportunity to taste and purchase wine directly from the winery. The idea began out of the frustration of participating in a wine tasting event, discovering a great wine and never finding it on the local grocery store shelf.

This is the first event of its kind and is set up as a farmer's market style shopping experience. There will be over 300 featured wineries showcasing and selling their varietals. Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley wineries will be present along with wineries from San Luis Obispo County and Santa Barbara. This event is not only limited to local wineries, there will also be many participating vintner's from around the world showcasing and selling their wine as well.

Several other features of the Vintner's Market are; a Reserve Room ,which will host some of the top wineries and their exclusive varietals, a Celebrity showcase featuring leading winemakers and industry stars, and a Pre-Event 'Wine Buyers Only' Wine Trade Tasting. Tickets for the event are $15.00 general admission or $50.00 which includes Reserve Room access. The event doors open at noon and close at 6:00 pm both event days.
