The sixteenth annual Napa Valley Mustard Festival, which runs from January 31st to March 28th, isn’t all about good food and wine incorporating the wonderful uses of Napa Valley mustard. It also celebrates the art of local Napa County artists and will be doing so with the help of 13 galleries during the Napa Valley Mustard Festival Weekend of Fine Art. Participating galleries begin at the north end of the Napa Valley in Calistoga at the Lee Youngman Gallery. In Saint Helena there is I. Wolk Gallery, Christopher Hill, Caldwell Snyder, and Art on Main. Yountville has RAS Gallery, North Bay Gallery, Images Fine Art South, and the Gordon Gallery. Napa galleries participating will be Studio Two, Quent Cordair Fine Art, Jessel Gallery, and Artists of the Valley.
At the galleries visitors will find Napa Valley Mustard Festival special promotions with many also having artists painting new pieces live on-site, as well as painting demonstrations. The sixteenth annual visual art competition will be held at the Saint Supery Winery in Rutherford where artists and art admirers can mingle over wine and finger food on February 7th from 5-7 that evening. The art will be available for purchase though it will remain there throughout the festival once the exhibit competition has taken place. There will also be a silent auction taking place through March 28th known as the Mumm Photo Finish with the Hall Winery hosting an artists’ reception from 1-3 on the afternoon of February 8th.
Information pertaining to the events and the host galleries can be obtained at any of the Napa Valley art galleries that will be participating in the Napa Valley Mustard Festival Weekend of Fine Art. You can also visit the festival’s website, http://www.mustardfestival.org.
