Located 70 miles north of San Francisco, Healdsburg's 11th Annual Jazz Festival will tap to a Brazillian beat from May 29th to June 7th. Brazillain samba and bossa nova will take over wine country for one week and can be heard in vineyards, historic theatres and Hotel Healdsburg. Included in the Brazillian inspired lineup are saxophone and flute player James Moody, Brazillian guitarist Tonino Horta, Trio La Paz and Esperanza Spalding and Randy Weston's African Rhythms.
The festival is the beginning of the annual weekly free outdoor jazz concerts, and tourists can join in the celebration by attending the Jazz Tastings put on by local wineries held in the Healdsburg Plaza. Among the wineries at the tasting will be Preston, creators of renowned organic varietals, Porter Creek Vineyards, producers of biodynamic wines, and Seghesio Family Vineyards family owned and operated for 125 years. A tourist will also find many shops and galleries participating in the festival as well as eateries such as Barndiva, Cyrus Restaurant and Flying Goat Coffee.
