If the former Santa Barbara area wine industry group Foley Wine Group wasn’t a well known wine industry name in northern California’s wine country before, it has recently been making moves that will certainly raise its profile. The group, which recently altered its name to Foley Family Wines, recently purchased one of the biggest names amongst the wineries in Sonoma Valley, Sebastiani Vineyards. And with that purchase the wine group has decided to relocate its corporate base from Santa Barbara, to the Sebastiani property in Sonoma.
Factoring into the Foley Family Wines name change was the interest in maintaining an emphasis on the family wine culture inherent in the private company, something that the Sebastiani firm was also fond of and so the Sebastiani employees will remain intact after the merger. In fact, the Foley Family Wines group is formalizing plans to not only combine both headquarters at the Sonoma Valley property, but will likely be expanding their bottling operations there as well as corralling other Foley Family Wines brands onto the same location. The wine country, its five hundred wineries, the as well as the area’s wealth of facilities, resources and industry talent make it an obvious choice in the firm’s estimation.
Foley Family Wines is hoping to settle into its new life in the Sonoma Valley as quickly as possible, and is encouraging its employees and executives to become active in the surrounding business networks as well as the community with charity and civic work, much as the Sebastiani group was before them. The Foley Family Wines group fully intends to be an integral aspect of the Sonoma Valley local community while also continuing on its path toward becoming a leader in the global premium wine industry.
