Nestled in the Russian River Valley wine aficionados have been visiting the DeLoach Vineyard for over three decades. The wineries founder, Cecil DeLoach planted the vineyard's first Pinot Noir grape in 1973. Recently purchased by the Boisset family of Burgundy, France because of the similarities of Napa Valley and Burgundy the winery now uses French open-top wood fermentors and practices hand punch downs-known as pigeage, traditional to the Burgundian wine making industry. Due to the vineyards dedication to the environment the organization was awarded Organic Certification by the CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers) in 2008.
The wine bought and sampled at DeLoach Vineyard is produced using sustainable and organic methods which positively affect the health of the land and the quality of the wine. For those awaiting the release of the first vintage grown with biodynamic farming techniques the wait continues. Unfortunately this vintage will not be release until 2010. The 2007 Pinot Noir is one of the wineries most prized varietals and most favored by Napa Valley Wine Country enthusiasts and visitors. While exploring the DeLoach Winery the visitor will have a chance to taste not only wine but also taste artisinal cheeses and tour the winery, vineyards and organic garden. There is something for everyone at the DeLoach Family Vineyard!
