Sonoma County is the heart of wine country, and what better way to end a wine country weekend by celebrating the 4th of July in one of wine country's quaint towns. There are many 4th of July celebrations held in Sonoma County every year and a few of them are the Old Fashioned Fireworks Display in Healdsburg; Red, White and Boom in Santa Rosa; and Fourth of July on the Plaza in Sonoma.
The Old fashioned 4th of July Celebration in Healdsburg takes place at the local high school and starts at 9:30pm. It's suggested that attendants bring a blanket and picnic to celebrate this small town 4th of July. The Red, White and Boom celebration in Santa Rosa is the largest fireworks display in Sonoma County and takes place at the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds open at 6pm, parking is ten dollars and food and vendor booths will be present. Attendees are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets and are reminded to be sure to find seating prior to the 9:30pm fireworks show. Sonoma's Fourth of July on the Plaza celebration starts with a parade around 9pm and a fireworks show at 10pm.
