Located 18 miles west of Santa Rosa and right next to Guernville is a quaint group of cottages making up the Fern Grove Bed and Breakfast. Surrounding the Fern Grove cottages iare acres and acres of vineyards, huge redwood trees and the Russian River. This enclave of small cottages was built in the 1920's and is known for its homemade scones and proximity to all things Sonoma.
The cottages are available as a studio, one or two bedroom. Some have hot tubs inside the cottage while all have porches and quaint decor. The owners make each person's stay special by adding their personal touch to everyone's experience. The continental breakfast includes locally produced ingredients as well as homemade items. And the owners are always willing to share all knowledge they have of the area in order to make one's stay more enjoyable.
With wine country only a short distance away there is no lack of activities in this region. Not only can a visitor take a short trip to the heart of Napa and Sonoma, but they can also park their car and explore what the Russian River and Guernville have to offer. The Russian River is a short walk from Fern Grove with many activities for adults and children alike. Canoeing and kayaking is very popular on this stretch of the river as well as sun bathing and swimming. A short walk to Guernville will lead to small restaurants, a public beach and a few shops. A short drive from Guernville is Monte Rio home of the Monte Rio Movie Theatre which shows movies year round. There are always plenty of things to do in wine country for people of all ages.
