13th Annual Rhone Rangers Wine Tasting in San Francisco

This informative wine tasting festival is presented by the Rhone Rangers, a non-profit group dedicated to promoting Rhone varietal wines, and will be held in San Francisco March 27th and 28th, 2010. Along with wine tasting, participants can attend seminars and lectures by expert sommeliers as well as learn about pairing local food and wine. The main event of the two day event is the Grand Tasting in which over 2,000 wine enthusiasts will attend a tasting of over 500 Rhone varietal wines from more than 100 wineries. This tasting also includes a sampling of gourmet food such as olive oils, bread, cheese, fruits and chocolates.

On Saturday, March 27th the event will begin with a choice of two seminars, Guidelines for Pairing Wines with Local Dishes and Grenache, Red, White and Pink! Both seminars highlight the local flavor of Sonoma Valley and feature Arnot-Robert Winery and the Girl & the Fig Restaurant. On Sunday, March 28th a 90-minute seminar on The Ageability of American Rhone Wines will feature library wines from several Rhone Rangers winery members. This event provides wine enthusiasts an opportunity to experience wine country while gaining knowledge of Rhone varietals.
