Each year the Awanahee Lodge celebrates innovative culinary expertise with some of the worlds most acclaimed chefs. These celebrations provide an outlet for Yosemite tourists to experience a range of personalities, styles and tastes that make American cuisine unique. The Yosemite Chef Holidays is a two month event beginning in January and commencing in early February. A few of the events held throughout the celebration are: meet the chef receptions, cooking classes, demonstrations and specially prepared chef dinners.
This year is the 25th Anniversary of The Yosemite Chef Holidays and events are being held through out the nation as part of the celebration. The Greens Restaurant, located at Fort Mason Building A, in San Francisco will host a lecture on vegetarian cooking with well known chef Annie Somerville. Somerville is a popular author, cooking instructor and chef in the Bay Area and will speak about the importance of local ingredients when cooking vegetarian cuisine.
