Using its United Express and Sky West Airlines, United Airlines will return to operating San Francisco to Spokane route with two direct flights per day beginning this summer. The route has been dormant for the airline for eight years and while other airlines serviced the bay area directly from the northwest, none of them flew from Spokane to San Francisco International Airport.
United Airline’s decision to begin offering the route to San Francisco came as a result of both the demand from tourism going into the San Francisco area for the city’s sightseeing attractions, as well as those in wine country, the many conventions held in San Francisco, as well as in greatest part to the demand from businesses wishing for easy flights to SFO for business destinations in Silicon Valley and San Francisco, but also as a launching point for business interest cities throughout Asia.
The flights will leave Spokane twice each day at six o’clock in the morning and again three o’clock in the afternoon, with the direct flights arriving in fewer than two hours of flight time. The return legs will be offered at mid-day around one o’clock, and then again at ten o’clock at night. While flights won’t begin until June, tickets for the Spokane International Airport to San Francisco International Airport direct flights can be purchased as of today.
