Dolores Park is a summer staple for San Franciscans and city tourists looking for outdoor relaxation and recreation. The park is located in the Mission Dolores neighborhood of San Francisco with the Mission neighborhood to the east and Dolores Heights to the west. The park offers many recreational activities such as tennis, basketball, soccer, a children's playground and a dog play area. There are also many events hosted at the park such as outdoor film screenings and live music.
This summer the San Francisco Symphony will perform a free concert in Dolores Park on July 19 beginning at 2:00pm. The symphony will play several pieces including Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Fantasy- Overture and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. This event is an annual concert produced by the San Francisco Symphony and free to the public. Some of the symphony's musicians will be available before the performance to speak to the public and answer questions about their instruments, careers and music. This concert is perfect for city tourists unable to secure San Francisco Symphony tickets while visiting the area. For more information about the event please visit www.sfsymphony.org.
