The California Mile Begins in San Francisco

The 2010 California Mille marks the 20th annual tour of California, which will begin April 25th on Nob Hill. The re-creation of the original Mille Miglia, an Italian road race, has been touring through San Francisco for the last 20 years with the objective of traveling off the beaten path, discovering quaint little towns, experiencing the best dining and touring on the California Coast. On Sunday, April 25th seventy historic race cars will arrive at Nob Hill from England, Ireland, Switzerland, Columbia, Italy and a dozen American states to take part in the historic journey.

A free car show introducing the cars and drivers to the public will take place on Nob Hill from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on April 25th. The following morning, April 26th, the race will begin with all participating cars heading towards California Highway 1 north. The group will traverse back roads and pass through small towns on their way to Sonoma. The historic tour concludes in Sonoma on Thursday, April 29th with a free car show and a chance to meet the drivers and talk to them about their travels. The final car show will take place at the Lodge at Sonoma on Broadway between Leveroni and Napa Road at 4:00 pm.
