Summerthing Concert

Jun
20 2009

San Francisco's Alice Radio Station will be hosting its annual Summerthing concert in Golden Gate Park on June 21st from noon til 5:00pm. The show features headliners such as Gavin Rossdale, Matt Nathanson, Sugar Ray and Parachute. This annual event is celebrating its 6th year of providing free outdoor music to San Francisco locals and tourists. Attendees will also be able to try their hand at the art of trapeze, an activity hosted by Trapeze Arts, which allows participants to practice their aerial acrobatics while flying high overhead. The festival will also feature a green zone where learning about preserving the environment is fun and rewarding. A pair of his and hers bikes will be raffled as well as a pair of tickets to the Tony Award winning musical "Wicked." Along with the Greenthing Zone, there will be gourmet food booths, a gated beer and wine garden and an area where local companies will be selling their wares.

The concert will be held at Speedway Meadow and there are several rules all participants are asked to abide by. A few of the most important rules are no lawn chairs, beach blankets only, all ages are welcome and there will be no ATM machines on the premise. This is a great event to end a long weekend of city sightseeing or touring. For more information please see www.radioalice.com/pages/427796.php.
