The 2009 6th Annual San Francisco Theatre Festival will take place Sunday July 26th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. The festival includes over 130 solo and group performances by some of the Bay Area's leading theatre organizations. Throughout the day performances can be seen at the Yerba Buena Gardens in downtown San Francisco, Zeum, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the Contemporary Jewish Museum, the Museum of the African Diaspora and the Metreon.
This year's line up is very diverse and includes the broadway cast of Wicked and Beach Blanket Babylon. The festival also includes other unique performances including Killing My Lobster, No Nude Men presents "Tai-Sharm & the King of Baraquil," a comedic fable and Shanique Scott, an entertaining solo performance about a young girl's dream for a better life. Each performance provides the audience a glimpse into different theatre genres and is a perfect opportunity of a San Francisco tourist to experience a brief taste of city theatre.
