San Francisco's Beach Blanket Babylon Experience Drastic Change

Val Diamond, who has been the star of Blanket Babylon for over 30 years, has decided to leave the show. Diamond, who was raised in Oakland, joined Beach Blanket in 1979 and has been a magnet for city tourists ever since. She has performed in over 11,500 shows, and has even performed for Prince Charles and Queen Mum. Beach Blanket Babylon impresario Jo Schuman Silver described Diamond as one of the "most versatile and professional performers to ever grace the stage and Club Fugazi."

Despite the quick exit of one of the city's most well known stars, the production team is not concerned. The public attends Beach Blanket Babylon for the spectacular show put on by a well known team of performers not an individual artist. The show must go on and will go on.
