San Francisco Civic Center to Host Colossal Sculpture

Jan
25 2010
City Hall, San Francisco

San Francisco will debut a monumental bronze sculpture this spring as part of the Shanghai San Francisco Sister City Celebration 30th Anniversary. The San Francisco Arts Commission has been working with the artist, Zhang Huan and the Pace Wildenstein Gallery out of New York, to secure the six month loan of the public art piece. The huge sculpture, titled Three Heads Six Arms, will make its world premiere as the focal point of the Joseph L. Alioto Performing Arts Piazza located across from City Hall in the Civic Center.

San Francisco tourists can view the twenty six foot tall, fifteen ton bronze sculpture beginning in late spring for approximately six months. The San Francisco Arts commission and the city of San Francisco are proud to have the opportunity to celebrate such an important event with the unveiling of a beautiful sculpture.
