San Francisco is widely known as being the gateway to northern California’s wine country and its five hundred wineries. Not far beyond the Golden Gate Bridge in Sonoma County and Napa County are the world famous wines of more than five hundred wineries. But from February 6th through the 15th, the city of San Francisco will be celebrating the delights of another finely cultivated and popular beverage when it hosts the San Francisco Beer Week throughout the city. The San Francisco Beer Week was created by sommelier, Emily Wines, from the Fifth Floor restaurant, a Michelin rated restaurant in San Francisco.
The intention is to not only give exposure to micro brew pubs and their creations, but to also give tourists another reason to visit this great city and have additional interesting things to do to complement their laundry list of sightseeing attractions while they are here. There are more than one hundred events planned that will celebrate craft brewing over the course of the San Francisco Beer Week, and those will take place throughout the city. For a full calendar of what, where and when regarding the San Francisco Beer Week, check for online details at event’s website: http://www.SFBeerWeek.org. On the final day of the celebration, the Oakland Convention Center will play host to a corralling all the beer lovers into one place for the grand finale celebration.
