Rock Make Music and Art Street Festival was a Success!

Aug
25 2009

The second annual Rock Make Street Festival was held on Sunday August 23rd in the Mission District of San Francisco. The 2008 event brought together bands, artists, residents and tourists who explored one of San Francisco's most popular neighborhoods while sampling local music, arts and crafts. This year's event included 2 stages, over 12 Bay Area bands and performers, independent crafters, visual artists and fashion designers. The Rock Make Street Festival is organized by the collaborative effort of The Bay Bridged, a non-profit music organization, Tartufi, one of the Bay Area's most popular indie rock bands, and Whiz Bang Fabrics, a contemporary fabric store that supports the local Bay Area arts and crafts scene.

The festival hosted a kick off pre-party on Saturday, August 22nd at the Rite Spot Cafe. Featured performances included Dame Satan, Tiny Television and Marcus Stoesz of Paper Airplanes. Both the pre-party and the Rock Make Music and Art Street Festival are free events open to the public. For those who missed this incredible festival be prepared to schedule a day to explore the independent music and art scene of the Bay Area in 2010.
