San Francisco's Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with the non-profit San Francisco Parks Trust to create a new website dedicated to public park activities and events. The 'Parks Portal' site will be launched within the next four weeks and is a city-wide bulletin board that will be open to organizations and individuals who can post and peruse city park happenings. The bulletin board is an attempt to create a friendlier atmosphere for people who are interested in posting public events taking place in San Francisco's menagerie of parks.

The site will be monitored by a moderator and each posting requested will receive a response within 3-5 business days with a notification as to whether the requested posting was accepted. This website will not only add cohesiveness to the Parks and Recreation Division of the city but will also create a central address for the San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department to post events happening within the city. This site is a potential destination for tourists and out of town visitors looking to spend a day strolling through the local city parks. The Parks Department hopes the website will make walking tours and visiting city parks easy and more enjoyable. For more information regarding the 'Parks Portal' website please visit their website.
