The second annual Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival will be held at Golden Gate Park August 28-30, 2009. The music festival is a three day event featuring multiple stages, attractions and performances. This year is sure to be exciting with big name musicians such as MIA, Tenacious D and Pearl Jam. The festival kicks off Friday with Silver Sun Pickups, Incubus and Pearl Jam performing on the Lands End stage.
Along with the musical entertainment are a plethora of attractions such as A Taste of the Bay Area which features local restaurants and eateries serving some of the best food found in the region. A festival goer can also take part in the Eco Lands section of the event by utilizing the refillable water stations, solar cell phone charging stations and compostable silverware, cups and plates. The Outside Lands Music Festival also features 3 stages where participants can play The Beatles Rock Band for Xbox 360, relax in the Outside Lands Salon and snag free merchandise from the Relix Magazine booth. The Barbary will also be showcasing live cabaret, rock n' roll and circus acts throughout the three day festival. Along with the already mentioned activities is the Winehaven tent which will feature 25 local winemakers pouring 75 different varieties. The Winehaven vintners will also offer tasting tutorials for groups of six where they will offer their wine knowledge to the participants and answer questions regarding their wine.
The Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival begins August 28th at noon and commences Sunday August 30th at 9:30pm. Tickets prices start at $89.50 for a single day general admission pass while 3 day passes start at $225.50 each.
