The San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau (SFCVB) has announced an agenda for their fifth annual Northern California Visitor Industry Outlook Conference, which will be held February 23, 2010. The conference will run from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis in downtown San Francisco. This half day conference will focus on current trends affecting travel and tourism in Northern California. The SFCVB expects between 150-200 attendees who will travel from all over Northern California including Mendocino County, wine country and Monterey.
The keynote speaker, Tapan Munroe Ph.D., a financial columnist for the Bay Area News Group and former Chief Economist for PG&E, will address the economic outlook for 2010. A discussion on 'Consumer Behavior and Uncertain Times' will be given by Consumer Psychology Expert Lynn Kahle of the University of Michigan's Survey Research Center. There will also be an update regarding the meetings and convention market by SFVCB's Executive Vice President Leonard Hoops. Along with these speakers will be presentations on the 2010 outlook for business travel, the outlook for San Francisco's hotel occupancy, San Francisco and the leisure traveler, an update on air service and the international market and a discussion on the 2009 Visitor Industry Economic Impact Statistics.
This conference will present the region's tourism industry with detailed foresight into the economic future of travel and current tourism market trends.
