Cirque du Soilel's latest touring show, Ovo, features an adventure into an ecosystem where insects live and search for love. The show is described by Cirque as exploring "a world of biodiversity and beauty filled with noisy action and moments of quiet emotion." The show includes a love story between an eccentric insect and a fabulous ladybug, as well as the insect community's discovery of an egg. Ovo is currently playing in Toronto but will head to San Francisco next.
Cirque du Soilel has its roots in Baie-Saint-Paul, a town neighboring Quebec City, in Canada. It was in this town that a group of performers, founded by Gilles Ste-Croix, toured the streets, walking on stilts, juggling, dancing, and breathing fire. One of the young performers in this group, Guy Laliberte, would later found and serve as CEO of Cirque du Soleil.
This performance will mark Cirque Du Soleil's newest show line up in San Francisco. For more information about Cirque du Soleil, or to get tickets for the upcoming performances please visit www.cirquedusoleil.com.
