Aero Mexico, which has made a name for itself with its attention to service, has been expanding its territories and routes into America recently, with four routes having been added since the year bean. California now ranks as the carrier’s most popular destination in the Unites States and the city of San Francisco, with its business and technology focus as well as its myriad of sightseeing attractions, and wine country, today becomes Aero Mexico’s fourth and largest operation within California.
To mark the occasion, Aero Mexico is planning events at the San Francisco International Airport today in advance of the early morning inaugural flight. Prior to the seven o’clock flight this morning, there will be a reception for passengers and luminaries, with city, airport, and political dignitaries speaking, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony. Representatives from San Francisco and Mexico City are expected to highlight the significance of the route toward expanding business growth, addressing the travel needs of a large Latino population in San Francisco, and tourism in two of the most significant cities in North America.
Expected to be in attendance are SFO’s Airport Director, Aero Mexico’s Director of the Western US as well as the American Operations VP, the Mexican Consulate and the Consul General. Aero Mexico officials feel that despite the world-wide economic plight of many companies including airlines, demand exists for travel between the two cities regardless of the current circumstances and therefore the company has decided to address those needs now when there are actually inherent cost and strategic advantages, rather than to attempt to forego its entry into San Francisco until the world recovered from the current recession.
