There are many ways to experience the sightseeing attractions in San Francisco. A city tour offers a fun and relaxing ride through the scenic city landscape, and a night tour offers a tourist the chance to glimpse the cities nightlife, lights and landscape from a very unique perspective. However, for the outdoor enthusiast, the Angel Island Trail Run offers spectacular views of San Francisco and the Bay Area. Hosted by Pacific Coast Trail Runs this race is one of the most popular short to medium distance trail runs in San Francisco and will be held June 20, 2009.
For tourists who are interested in fitness and spectacular scenery, this trail run provides multiple vantage point views of Marin County, San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. The trail travels through meadows, forested areas, rocky land and over hills. There are also several distances to choose from: 8 km (4.9 mi), 16 km (9.94 mi), 25 km (15.53 mi) and 50 km (31 mi). Included with registration is a post race soup and chili picnic and during the race fresh fruit, snacks, water and sports drinks are provided. The registration fees start at $35 for the 8 km distance and $60 for the 50 km distance. All runners will be shuttled by ferry from Tiburon to the Island and the fee is $14 which is not included in the race registration.
