San Francisco marks 53rd Annual International Film Festival

The San Francisco International Film Festival was founded in 1957 and is the longest running film festival in the Americas. Each spring over 150 films and live events are premiered to an audience numbering 80,000. Awards are also presented to film makers for cinematic excellence and achievement. The San Francisco International Film Festival is organized by the San Francisco Film Society, Northern California's premiere organization for filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts.

The San Francisco International Film Festival features an array of narrative and feature films, live action and animated shorts, television and theatrical documentaries and experimental work in a variety of new digital media. Along with this long list of films is a range of events such as industry panels and seminars, onstage tributes, awards events and retrospectives.
