42nd Street Moon opened its 2009 season on Halloween night with Destry Rides Again, a musical that takes place in the fictional town of Bottleneck. The plot is based on the classic struggle between good vs. evil, as the new sheriff, Tom Destry, is tempted by Frenchy, the dance hall girl at the Last Chance Saloon. The score features numbers such as "Are You Ready", "Gyp Watson? I Say Hello", "Anyone Would Love You", and "Ev'ry Once in a While." Connie Champagne will play Frenchy, while the role of sheriff Tom Destry will be played by Leonard Gershe.
