The San Francisco Jewish Film Festival was founded in 1980 as a means to introduce independent Jewish cinema to a greater audience. Today the organization includes the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, which is a three week summer film festival, year round screenings and events, youth and adult education programs, film maker support and a plethora of online resources. The goal of the SFJFF is to promote cultural diversity and awareness within the Jewish community, strengthen Jewish identity and promote independent film makers working with Jewish themes.

Beginning July 23rd and commencing August 10th is the 29th Annual San Francisco Jewish Film Festival. The first and largest of its kind the Jewish Film Festival searches the globe for the most intriguing and thought provoking cinematic selections available. The festival screenings will take place in San Francisco, Berkeley, San Rafael and Palo Alto and includes 71 films from 18 countries. Each film is selected for its eloquent storytelling which is one of the unique details that make independent Jewish cinema distinct. Festival screenings take place at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco, The Roda Theatre in Berkeley, Cine Arts at Palo Alto Square in Palo Alto and the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center in San Rafael. This film festival is celebrated throughout the city by both residents and tourist.

Tickets can be purchased for $12, 10-pack screening for $100 or a complete festival pass for $225. For more information regarding films and show times please visit www.sfjff.org.
