The renowned actor Lee Stetson is doing a one man show on the highly regarded conservationist John Muir called, “John Muir: Among the Animals." The play has returned due to popular demand and will focus on John Muir the environmentalist’s connection with wildlife and the domestic animals he knew.

John Muir famously wrote about his pet dog named Stickeen, which gave Muir many cherished insights regarding our relationship and kinship with the surrounding wildlife. Stetson also offers insight into John Muir the man which can’t be found on any Muir Woods tour, by portraying him chasing a Yosemite bear, encounters sheep in the mountains of Yosemite, mourns the loss of the carrier pigeon, and confronts coiled rattlesnakes. It’s a light hearted and insightful peek into John Muir and human nature.

Lee Stetson has portrayed John Muir for audiences around the world and honors the man every year at the Sierra College Earth Day. “John Muir: Among the Animals” will be at the Dietrich Theater on the Sierra College Rocklin campus on Friday, April 24, at 7:30 PM.
