Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our tour of Yosemite on Tuesday, October 9th. This note is to let you know that our tour guide, Charles, was accommodating, interesting and made it a pleasant trip. This photo was taken of us by Charles at El Capitan. We just thought we would say thanks.

I just wanted to write you and let you know how our family's experience was with your tour company. We came out to SF for the TCU/Stanford game in mid-October and we decided to add a tour of Yosemite Park to our itinerary. First, we were very impressed with how helpful everyone was when we called with our questions. We have a 4 year old, so we had a lot of questions regarding the car seat/booster seat laws for the state of California. But mostly I'm writing to express just how happy we were with our Tour Guide/Driver, Frank Sherlock. From the moment he picked us up at our hotel to the minute he dropped us off, he made sure that everyone had an enjoyable and educational experience. Obviously, traveling with a 4 year old has its own challenges and Frank made sure that our son was comfortable and involved in the whole experience. He took time to show our son the wildlife and the phenomenal scenery in Yosemite. He even found a gas station in the middle of nowhere for an unscheduled bathroom break. We could not have been any happier with our decision to use Extranomical Adventures and we will make certain to tell anyone who is going to northern California that this day trip with Extranomical was the best money we spent during our trip. Again, thanks for a wonderful experience and especially thanks to Frank for making the trip so enjoyable. He is an absolute credit to your company.

My husband Paul and I want to thanks for a great tour to Yosemite (Friday, September 1) and to commend your tour guide/driver Jack for a fantastic day. He was accommodating, courteous and very knowledgeable about the areas we covered. He made the 3 hour trip each way interesting, briefed us thoroughly on Yosemite and it was nice to hear not only about geological places of interest, but of the history of Yosemite and California. I didn't mind at all that he has the best interests for our environment in mind. Wish more people did. I have a bad knee and he made me feel comfortable even though I travel as slowly as a turtle. I also am very fearful of traveling on freeways. However, Jack was a good driver and I felt comfortable with him at the wheel. We enjoyed the fact that we were able to have a small, intimate group and feel that your company offers a value-priced service to the tourist. We will not hesitate to recommend Extranomical Tours to our friends. If only the airlines could get their acts together as well as you folks. They could take a lesson in customer service!

Hi,

I just wanted to write and thank you for a great time. I went on the Yosemite in 1 Day trip on 10/5. I wanted to let you know that our tour guide Dan was amazing.

He was full of knowledge and kept the trip interesting. He also helped to make it feel as if we were traveling with a group of friends. The whole trip was spent laughing and having a good time. Even though most of the laughing was coming from my friend and I (I have never seen mountains before and I was very excited).I also appreciated his concern for my comfort, it was cold and raining, and I am from Miami, so I was freezing. He made sure that the van was warm enough. He also suggested a rather good Spanish restaurant for me and my friend to have dinner that night.

I just wanted to thank him for a great day. I will truly never forget my trip to Yosemite. Here are some pictures. Again thanks for organizing a great day trip. And let Dan know that the giggling girl behind him on the first rainy trip to Yosemite thanks him for everything.

During my recent vacation in San Francisco, CA, I had the pleasure of taking 2 of your tours. On Thursday, June 24, 2005 we took the Yosemite tour and absolutely loved it. Our guide, Jerry, was terrific! He provided a warm and friendly atmosphere, along with a lot of knowledge about Yosemite. We thought that the tour touched on most of the main attractions at the park. It was just an amazing and enjoyable experience. On Monday, June 27, we took the wine tour with Mark (?). We loved how Muir woods was included and thought that each winery was unique and enjoyable. This tour guide also provided a lot of information and created a fun atmosphere for all tour guests. Thanks again for two wonderful experiences! We hope to use your company again in the future!

During our four days in San Francisco the week of June 5th we had two tours with Gavin, one to Yosemite and the other to Sonoma Valley. Karla McCarty, Kathy Borders, Jeanetta Preston and myself would like to convey to the owner of the company what a valuable asset they have in Gavin. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable of the places we visited, but he also went above and beyond what was expected of a tour coordinator to make even the ride to and from our destinations more comfortable and enjoyable. Gavin is a well read individual that is very informative on a wide range of topics most of which tied in with the tour and made the whole experience not only educational, but entertaining as well. We would like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude to Gavin and let him know how memorable he made our vacation.

On a personal note, I have traveled all over the United States and during those travels have met a
lot of people and I have to say without a doubt Gavin has been my most favorite person I have met
and he made my trip to San Francisco unforgettable.

My husband and I went on a tour led by Ralph Johnson to Yosemite Park in July. Upon getting on the van, Ralph immediately introduced each of the people to one another making us feel comfortable, and creating a friendly atmosphere. I thought it was nice how he was able to interact with everyone in a friendly and informative manner.

Ralph pointed out many sites on the way to Yosemite explaining the history etc. of the different areas. He was thorough and knowledgeable in every aspect of the tour. I have been on other tours in the past, and this was truely a great experience for us both. I will highly recommend this tour to anyone who goes to San Francisco, and I will tell them to ask for Ralph. :) Please share this letter with Ralph Johnson.

Today is my first day back at work after a lovely holiday in San Francisco.

I just wanted to write to you to thank you for a fantastic day trip to Yosemite on 14 September. Ralf was an excellent guide - very knowledgeable on the area and gave a very detailed and informative commentary both on the outward and homebound trips. He was guiding right up to the hotel dropoff at 7 that evening! Having worked as a guide myself in Ireland, I really appreciated, as a customer, having a guide who was so knowledgable, friendly and professional. I know that it was a very long day for Ralf, but he was in good spirits for the whole trip.

We are three of tourist from Bangkok that used to join with your trip from San Francisco to Yosemite Valley and we spent 2 nights around Yosemite Bug Lodge. Hi there,

Just to let you know we all had an awsome day today.

Ralph was a great tour guide and very interesting. He also read his passengers very well by letting us all have a quick snooze before brekkie on the way up!! The DVD's really enhanced and prolonged the experience, I will definitely be returning.

I also have a few brochures to distribute in the crew room back in Auckland. From this weekend onwards though we only get a 24hrs layover here mostly instead of the 48-72 hr ones we used to get previously except for once a week, so you may not get as many crew as you would have done before. However we'll see what the company can do about that!

Thank you once again, and please pass on my thanks again to Ralph.

This was an excellent trip ... highly recommended. Pick up was on time. Organisation and timekeeping under Ralph's guidance was first class. In the snow it was a magical experience and we had ample view stops and opportunities to explore different areas. The van rode well only slight issue was that it was a pretty tight fit in the middle seats. Overall, however, extremely good value for money and an unforgettable experience. Well done Ralph ... he made the day for us and is a real professional.

So, there it was, the final (full) day of my trip to the US of A and the day I had been waiting for ... finally. I had booked myself on a day tour to the Yosemite national park with Extranomical adventures. Since Yosemite is about 3.5 hours away from San Francisco, the van was supposed to pick me up from the hotel between 6 - 6.30 am. And they did land up in time at 6.15

The van consisted of about 12 people including 2 kids, people from Denver, Spain, England & Philedelphia and our drive was a rather decent bloke called Jack

Of we headed to Yosemite through the flat central valley in California through Modesto, Merced and El Portal and right along the Merced river and hit the park. As we headed into the park, the tempratures were heading downwards and it was getting to be rather cold out there. The first stop was at the Bridalveil fall, may have been an impressive sight in Spring when the water falls in all its glory but at this time in the winter, it really wasnt a great site. Well, not to be unfair to it ... it was kinda of okay

Then we went on the the place immortalised by Ansel Adams and caught a real good glimpse of El Capitan (the largest standing Granite structure in the world) and Half-dome (another grantite sctructure which is sliced into half by a moving glacier in the ice age). Yosemite falls, which apparently is the largest waterfall in North America too wasnt too much of a sight to behold given that there aint much water coming down from it !

Jack meanwhile did his bit with stories and titbits about the Yosemite, on how people from all over landed up in California landed up during the Gold Rush in 1848, and how the Native American Indians were slowly by surely killed and driven away from their lands (the current Yosemite park being one of them) and how the White man ethinically cleansed the area of Native Indians and imprinted his control. He also went on about how California has a rather colourful history starting off as Spanish territory and then Mexican and then an Independent country for a while before finally becoming a state of the USA

Yosemite today has a lot to owe John Muir, an adventurer who more then a 100 years ago apparently trekked into Yosemite and fell in love with it and staged a long campaign to conserve it ... (click to read more)

I want to thank you, your company and the driver for the wonderful tour my grandson and I had last Wednesday to Yosemite. Everything worked out the way it was planned. Your driver was excellent and kept us very much on time. We enjoyed the drive to the park, the time spent within the park, the waterfalls and the walk on the deep, deep snow to the grove of giant sequoias. One of the highlights was to walk through the Tunnel Tree.

We couldn't get a place at the Yosemite campground in the first night; but that was own our luck. We had to camp in the background and that was so much fun because it was pure nature und very silent. The next day of the Yosemite tour we got a place at the campground.

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip to Yosemite from San Francisco with you. Both Mark and Gavin were excellent in their commentaries and knowledge of the Yosemite park area history. We enjoyed hearing all the information they gave us on the tour. (We were listening). Many thanks Mark, for putting yourself out to returning Lucy's CD's - she was very grateful. Thank you Gavin for stopping to let us see the brown and black bears - definitely a highlight of the Yosemite tour.

Even although the Yosemite National Park entrance was blocked by the landslide we were very happy to put up with the extra travelling and wouldn't have wanted to miss any of it. The Yosemite "Bug" Hostel was very comfortable and the food great loved the location and the exercise (hill). It was great to be collected and dropped off outside our hotel and made it so much easier for me not to have to work out where to meet for the Yosemite tour. So a very big thank you and would definitely recommend "Extranomical".

Just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had on our Yosemite National Park Tour. Our van was full and quite international. Three from Ireland, two from Belgium, two from England, two from Poland, one from Australia and three from the U.S. Our Yosemite Tour guide was Gavin and we could not have asked for a better driver or guide. He was full of interesting facts and did everything he could to make everyone comfortable on our Yosemite tour. It was a very long day but one that my wife and I will not soon forget.

If we, or any of our friends, venture to San Francisco in the near future, we will definitely recommend Extranomical Adventures for your Yosemite tours. Tell Gavin we said "Hi".

Thanks to you + all others in the SEP [Stanford Executive Program] office for helping us organizing the tour to Yosemite + providing breakfast boxes at 6 am this morning.

Everything worked out well - we had lots of fun + came back tonight around 9.15 pm from the Yosemite charter.

I received many positive comments on the tour regarding the driver/guide Marc, who also happens to be the manager of the company.
