San Francisco Tours Extranomical Midweek Special

Curt

CurtHi, my name is Curt Davis, I am originally from a small town in Northern California called Auburn. I have lived in San Francisco for the last 6 years since I met my lovely wife, Alese. Coincidentally we both grew up in Auburn but never knew each other until we were introduced by a mutual friend.

I was introduced to the wonderful world of Extranomical by my neighbor who is a friend of "the boss", she mentioned the job in passing and it sounded like fun and has been fun since Oct. of '06.

Even though I grew up in a small town I have had extensive experience in the travel and tourist industry as my previous job was as a musician for Princess Cruises. Yes, it was a great job and I was lucky enough to be able to travel around the world and get paid for it. You might say I got my education on the ships, meeting people and seeing things from all different walks of life that were a lot different from my small hometown. I think everyone should travel at least a little if for no other reason than it sure makes you appreciate what we are lucky to have in our own back yard.

When people found out how much I had traveled the inevitable question was always "where is your favorite place", I always told them, right here, at home in California and when I look out over the Yosemite Valley, the vineyards of Sonoma and Napa or our beautiful San Francisco bay I'm glad to be home.
CurtThe question now of course is “what is your favorite tour” and that is a tough question, the commute to Yosemite is a little long but you can’t beat the view from the office window. The wine country tour might not have quite the view (although it sure isn’t bad) but I’ve met some people that truly love their job and the laid back and friendly feel of the wineries we go to is real easy to take.

Some of my most remembered experiences to date have got to be watching the seasons change in the Yosemite Valley throughout a whole year. Seeing the bears emerge from their long winters nap and the mothers with their little cubs, cute as the dickens. Being in the wine country for “the crush” getting to see the whole process from the budding of the grape vines to the bottling and again, the people that have a real passion for what they do. And of course the interesting people from all over the world that I get to show off my “backyard”. I LOVE MY JOB!
