This was the best guided tour we have ever been on and we have been on tours all over the world. Roman was super, entertaining and informative. He was also very considerate of the passenger needs. I am encouraging our friends to check out your company and gave you a good Yelp review the day we came off the tour.
We have been to wine country many times always on our own, so with a friend visiting from Brooklyn we decided to try a tour bus instead of fighting the traffic. One of the best decisions I have ever made.
– Al K. on 06/27/2015
We really enjoyed our tour. We saw a lot of San Francisco while the bus was picking up other passengers, and our guide was discussing a lot about the neighborhoods we were in. Getting to Muir Woods early was great. We really enjoyed our time there. The three wineries we visited were very good as well. The lunch stop was excellent. It was very nice to walk the square in Sonoma and choose from the variety of restaurants there. We would recommend your firm to any of our friends visiting the area.
– John G. on 06/23/2015
Tour delivered as promised. Curt was entertaining. Only drawback was other customers late returning to the bus.
– Steven L. on 06/16/2015
Paul is highly organized, kind, enthusiastic, very funny in a kooky way, efficient, knowledgeable, passionate.
Let me say this: I could keep going on searching for just the right adjectives to concoct the ideal review for this guy, but my randomness will have to suffice for now. Further, it's almost cliche when someone writes a review for him or her to note that they don't normally write reviews--well, in my case, it's by and large true. Paul takes an extended interest in his passengers, and, additionally, he's actually your friend on the tour.
Paul is good, and he's got soul. If he's your guide, you're going to exit that van a better citizen.
– Nathan R. on 06/12/2015
Andy was knowledgable and entertaining. Muir woods was awesome and the wineries we visited were great. I never felt rushed or that we were spending too much time at places.
– Dirk K. on 06/11/2015
– Sandra S. on 05/26/2015
Roman made it a good day. He kept it fun with lots of advice and direction, and commentary. I really like that the tasting fees were included. I was afraid that 3 vineyards would get repetitive, but that wasn't the case at all. They each had something else to offer and made it fun.
– rob & janet b. on 05/26/2015
Roman was energetic, knowledgeable and very safe while guiding us through the tour. He goes the "extra-namo-mile" to ensure we get the best views and experience. He balanced the schedule and time allotted for each experience very well. We would definitely do another tour with Roman.
– Betty H. on 05/25/2015
great tour, everyone on tour was pleasant and on time, guide was awesome.
– Caroline B. on 05/24/2015
Great tour and extraordinary bus driver and guide!!!
– Javier K. on 05/05/2015
The service was excellent and the tour guide was very kind. He gave us the information that made the tour very interesting. It was my first visit to San Francisco and also my first visit to the wine country and Muir Woods. It was an unforgettable tour.
– Jeffrey F. on 04/30/2015
I'd definitely recommend Extranomical to others!
– Cheryl P. on 04/24/2015
After a 14 hour delayed flight and getting to our hotel a 5 am, we truly considered canceling our Redwoods and Wine Country tour. We mustered up the energy and got on the bus. From the moment we stepped on, our tour guide, Roman, turned our whole day around. He was hysterical, as well as extremely educated and full of information about the area. Muir Woods was beautiful and then we went on to wine country. Roman pointed us to the best places for lunch and we were not disappointed. We proceeded to finish up at the wineries, which were all excellent and headed back toward San Francisco. The last stop we made was a breath taking view of the Golden Gate. This was a great tour and Roman made it so much fun. The shuttle was clean and very comfortable. I highly recommend this tour and be sure to ask for Roman as your guide!
– Dave L. on 04/20/2015
Great tour! Frank was an excellent tour guide, we had a great time and saw everything we wanted to, and he even got us back to our hotel an hour earlier than expected!
– Jennifer L. on 04/13/2015
We had a great, stress-free day. Pick-up was on time right in front of our hotel. We crossed over the Golden Gate Bridge and stopped for a photo op since the forecast called for afternoon fog. Off we went to Muir Woods, with Lars providing a great commentary the whole way. After Muir Woods, we stopped off at Sonoma Square for a fantastic lunch and some wine (on your own) then we were off to 3 great wineries. We couldn't have asked for a better day!
– Yew Chen L. on 03/30/2015
It is fun and enjoyable. Just wish that the shopping time can be longer !! :)
– craig n. on 03/26/2015
Nick was really a fun tour guide. He was funny, friendly and knowledgable. We felt in good hands with Nick.
– Ricardo F. on 03/26/2015
– Angel F. on 03/25/2015
Although the van's rear sound system was non-functional, the overall experience was excellent. Don was very flexible and able to work with us to plan our itinerary. He was very knowledgeable and friendly.
– Kate R. on 03/25/2015
Thank you so much! My parents and I don't typically go the "tour bus" route, preferring to get places ourselves and design our route with more flexibility. The service was wonderful!
– Barry P. on 03/24/2015
Excellent selection of wineries.
– Brieauna L. on 03/13/2015
Frank was great. He was extremely knowledgable and took us to amazing wineries. I would definitely recommend Extranomical Tours and Frank as a tour guide.
– Robert S. on 03/12/2015
Very fun trip. It was my 2nd time doing the Wine Lover's Tour and I enjoyed it.
Couldn't make it to the winery I suggested (Chateau Montelena) because it was too far but still enjoyed it.
Wouldn't recommend going back to Bourassa Vineyards tho, didn't enjoy the experience.
– Nathan W. on 03/10/2015
Very enjoyable day, tour guide, Anthony, made the day very fun and interesting also.
A great way to combine the Muir woods and wineries.
– Thomas B. on 03/02/2015
Very nice tour. Ben was a great tour guide, very personable and knowledgeable. All three wineries were a good time and the Redwoods were beautiful.
– Jenna B. on 02/20/2015
We joined extranomical tours for a girls trip to San Francisco and loved every minute! Our guide, Don, was so knowledgable and friendly, and made the experience so enjoyable. We loved the diversity of this specific tour: the view and photo opportunity of the Golden Gate Bridge; the beautiful walk through Muir Woods, and the three different wineries that each had something to offer. Thank you for the incredible experience!
– Michelle B. on 02/13/2015
Don made an effort to provide us with a good range of wineries that would meet our expectations.
– Marilou B. on 02/09/2015
We were a group of 6 USA folks joined by 5 others from all over the world! Frank was delightful, told stories, pointed out the sitghts and the history. He kept everything lively and fun, got people to mix and chat. He really made the tour for us all!
– David C. on 02/07/2015
An outstanding experience.
– Linda Y. on 02/03/2015
The tour was very informative and well structured. Our tour guide was really nice and very exprienced with lots of knoweldge on the tour contents. The group of people who were on the same tour were nice and pleasant to be with. The convenience and efficiency of the tour was way beyond my expectation.
– Derek G. on 12/09/2014
After our original wine tour was cancelled by Green Dreams tour two days before our scheduled date, we were left with no idea who else to book with. We quickly found Extranomical on the internet and I am extremely glad we did. They were so easy to book with and I have without no doubt, that our tour guide Lars, was the best. Hands down. I have never met a tour guide who knew more about the history of things than Lars. Every topic he was well informed in, kept the information going even with there was a lack of response. He drove wonderfully through the winding roads of Muir woods. He made sure we were on time everywhere we went while still allowing the group adequate time to experience each spot. He kept conversation with myself upfront, even when no one else was interested in what he had to say and I greatly appreciate his attitude, advice on things in San Francisco, and general knowledge that gave me more insight to the things we were experiencing. If Lars were to ever leave Extranomical tours, they would be losing an EXTREMELY valuable employee. Can't say enough good things about him.
– john k. on 12/08/2014
a very good trip even in difficult weather ( flooding) Frank managed to get us through to Muir woods
– Henriette F. on 11/24/2014
I liked the tour

– Scott S. on 10/21/2014
Our tour was AWESOME from start to finish. We saw & did so much in the course of the day, and Roman was a great guide. He gave us so much information from San Fran history to wine to where to go for lunch and more. He was super entertaining and very punctual! It was great how every winery was ready for our group when we arrived. I can't believe how much we packed into one day. It truly couldn't have been better. Will definitely recommend your company! Thanks so much!
– Ariana G. on 10/20/2014

– Reggie G. on 10/14/2014
Had an excellent time and it was very informative.
– Josh Y. on 10/10/2014
Roman was hilarious throughout the day and efficient in picking everyone up on time, even getting out and running to direct people onto the bus. He was an expert driver, knowledgeable and personable with everyone, stopping to say hello and chat with us at lunch.
– Jessica M. on 10/01/2014
Roman MADE this trip! He was hilarious and did a great job teaching our tour about the California region while also adding his own humor and entertainment. I loved the morning Muir woods tour (prior to the crowd's arrival). Roman did a great job avoiding traffic and allowing us a great view of the golden gate bridge.
– Christina W. on 09/28/2014
Roman was very knowledgeable and extremely courteous.
I would definitely recommend him and also the tour to everyone.
– Dionne S. on 09/28/2014
Marc was very entertaining and had a wealth on knowledge on SF History, Muir Woods, and Wine Country.
I will definitely recommend Extranomical Tours to my friends and family.
– Karen F. on 09/25/2014
Leo was an amazing tour guide! We did the Muir Woods/ Wine Country tour. My sister (who doesn't even like wine) loved the tour because of Leo. He is so much fun, so helpful and a great tour guide. We had a great day!
- The Canadians - Karen and Mariah
– Christy M. on 09/10/2014
Roman was an awesome tour guide......he made the tour such a great experience!
– Caroline S. on 08/31/2014
We thoroughly enjoyed our wine and redwoods tour. Ben, our tour guide, was absolutely fantastic - he spoke very knowledgably about San Francisco, the woods and the wine country, while also throwing in some jokes. He was brilliant. The woods early in the morning were beautiful and it was lovely and quiet. The wine stops at Mayo and Cline's were really good and the wine was great; however, we would not re-visit nor recommend the Madonna Estate. The wine itself was nowhere near as high quality as the other two wineries and the speaker there was quite pushy and spoke for far too long about wines we should purchase from them or clubs with their wine that we should join. Other than that it was a fantastic tour and the stop in Sonoma Plaza was also great. Thank you to Ben for making it such a great day.
– merryly p. on 08/28/2014
had a really good time. wasn't sure if tour would go on because of the earthquake, but tour was great. really enjoyed the fact that we could chose our own place for lunch. ben had really good descriptions of restaurants available.
– Amanda R. on 08/26/2014
We had a wonderful tour with a knowledgable guide. Enjoyed our visit to Muir Woods and would recommend this tour to our friends and family. The stop at the GG bridge was amazing and made the whole trip worth it!
– Stephanie R. on 08/17/2014
Had a great time! The wineries were great and the guide interesting! Lots of fun and good experience!
– Janel M. on 08/16/2014
Tour destinations were great. Winery guides were very helpful and informative. We didn't understand our guide when he introduced himself so we aren't certain who we had.
– Katharine G. on 08/12/2014
Roman was an excellent tour guide, though at times tangential and overly chatty which might have helped some of the car sick tourists get through the windiest of roads. We very much enjoyed wine country, though I think we would have preferred to skip Mayo and spend more time in Napa. Great wine, great people, good weather!
– Starr D. on 08/12/2014
Muir Woods + wine country was a great day trip. We thoroughly enjoyed two of the three wineries we visited. Madonna estate left something to be desired, but Cline and Jacuzzi were fun, and we enjoyed our lunch at the Swiss Hotel in Sonoma.
– Barbara W. on 08/11/2014
Roman was a lot of fun. The only disappointment was that we didn't stop long enough in Sonoma Plaza. We only had time for lunch and weren't able to check out the plaza any further.
– Jeffrey L. on 08/09/2014
The bus was on time and comfortable. The guide was excellent in every aspect. Muir woods was wonderful and getting us there early was great because the park was empty, peaceful and relaxing. I could see when we were leaving that as the park filled up it lost some of the quiet that was so inspirational.
The wineries themselves were mediocre at best in terms of the quality of wine; for the most part the staff in these places were very accommodating and gracious.
– Richard K. on 08/05/2014
Overall, very good.
– Deepak N. on 08/04/2014
Excellent, fast-paced, crisply timed tour of both Muir woods and the lovely wine country.
My colleague and I loved every moment!
– Danielle I. on 07/22/2014
Andy was a great, enthusiastic tour guide with so much knowledge. I never felt like he was rushing us but he also kept the tour running smoothly and timely as well. Definitely would recommend this tour to others.
– Donna M. on 07/19/2014
Awesome tour. Our guide, Nick, was very nice and knowledgeable. The tour was very well done, got us to Muir Woods before the crowds, hotel pickups were timely. The wineries we stopped at were lovely. Lunch in Sonoma was terrific.
– joshua s. on 07/16/2014
A great way to see a little bit of a lot in a short amount of time. Loved lunch stop in Sonoma.
– Cayla P. on 07/15/2014
As for the tour itself, I was very pleased! I had originally planned on taking a tour with a different company that was slightly less expensive but where I would have had to pay for the tasting fees at the wineries--the convenience and experience of this tour was definitely worth the few extra bucks. Roman was a great tour guide all around -- very informative and fun! He was able to keep us on a schedule that I feel designated a perfect amount of time during both parts of the trip. This allowed us on our return to make a bonus stop at the Marin Headlands to take in some amazing views of the Golden Gate bridge. I would highly recommend his tour!
– Vito N. on 07/14/2014
Ben was a great driver and tour guide. I am glad I did not have to drive up to Muir Woods
nor have to negotiate the streets of San Francisco. The woods were awesome and we learned
a lot about wine making. The tasting samples were more than generous, and the winery hosts
excellent. Ben also provided lots of good info about Muir woods and the wineries. Plus
he gave us good suggestions for lunch in Sonoma.
– Genine Ira G. on 07/12/2014
The tour was a very good deal. Got a free upgrade from Wine Country to Wine country AND Muir Woods. Really appreciate it!
– Catherine L. on 07/11/2014
Roman was an excellent tour guide - entertaining & knowledgeable. I enjoyed the Mayo and Cline wineries best of all. In fact, I would have gladly done one less wine tasting to either have more time in the Muir Woods or for exploring Sonoma Plaza at lunchtime. Getting to the woods before the other buses was a big plus. As we were leaving the crowds were showing up!
– John H. on 07/02/2014
Great trip. Got to see Muir Woods before the crowds, then visited Somona and Napa Counties for wine tastings. Roman was an excellent driver and guide and certainly kept us interested throughout the whole day.
– Philip F. on 06/30/2014
Very content. Saw plenty of Muir Woods and Wine Country and was conveniently dropped off in Sausalito.
– Stiina R. on 06/30/2014
Great tour overall. Got to see a lot and taste good wines. The lunch stop in Sonoma Plaza was really nice. Ben was a fun and informative guide.
– Lauri C. on 06/29/2014
We went on two wine tours during our trip to San Francisco. The Extranomical tour was BY FAR better. Ramon was hilarious. We did our tour on the first day we were in San Francisco and as we went sight seeing I referred back to his jokes with every place we visited. He was the BEST tour guide. He made our tour a great, great time. This tour was way better than I ever expected. Tell Ramon his "Chicago Friends" say hello!!
– Kristin G. on 06/29/2014
Ben was funny, knowledgeable and prompt. He made sure we had a wonderful experience and knew fun facts about all our stops. I would recommend Ben and Extranomical Tours to anyone coming to San Francisco.
– Miriam J. on 06/27/2014
Trip is nicely spaced out thru the day to allow adequate time for each stop and to not cram all of the wineries together.
– Mackenzie T. on 06/26/2014
The tour itinerary was perfect and ran smoothly. The wineries were excellent and the tour guide was knowledgeable.
– Lindsay M. on 06/24/2014
The Redwoods were beautiful and we got there early enough to avoid the crowds. The wineries were perfect and had a lot to offer. We especially appreciated that there were no extra tasting fees!
– Andrew S. on 06/21/2014
Andy was great. Got us to Muir Woods before the crowds. He was knowledgeable and friendly with good recommendations at each stop. Two of the 3 wineries had good presentations and not a bad pour anywhere. Would recommend.
– Virginia B. on 06/09/2014
Small group taken to a great variety of wineries.
– John K. on 05/20/2014
Roman made this tour - fantastic guide!

– Julia P. on 02/02/2014
Easy way to get out of San Fran and see Muir woods and wine country. It was great getting to Muir woods early, before the crowds and kids rolled in, and the wineries and lunch stop made for a great afternoon.
– Gina S. on 01/30/2014
Marc was a wonderful tour guide. He was courteous, knowledgeable and fun. Muir Woods was incredible. The scenery on the drive was worth taking the tour.
– Jose R. on 01/26/2014
Diverse tour for outside of San Francisco, did it all in one day. Would highly recommend to anyone!! Sonoma square lunch stop was a great treat.
– Julie R. on 01/23/2014
Andy was the best part of the tour. You can tell he makes an effort to learn everyone's name and bring in relevant and recent stories about the area to keep the long drive fun and engaging.
– Margaret T. on 01/23/2014
Tour guide was fabulous! Knowledgeable & funny & polite & went out of his way to give everyone a wonderful experience. This is the best tour we'd ever been on ' regards tour guides & we have done many in n America

– Julia V. on 01/14/2014
Muir Woods was a peaceful, almost magical place. Our tour guide Marc was fabulous, friendly, well spoken, informative, the kind of guy you'd be happy inviting to a barbecue at home!

I liked the history of the city that was shared above and beyond the Muir woods and wine tour destinations. I learned so much about the city in just one day which was perfect when we were only there for a few short days.

Our guide! Safiya was fantastic. She went out of her way to make sure everyone had a memorable experience, for example, finding a banana slug at Muir Woods and taking tons of photos for us in front of the Golden Gate bridge. We also appreciated the small size of our tour group.
– Debra M. on 09/25/2013
The commentary added an element that a self-guided excursion could not match. I could enjoy the trip without the demands of driving and navigating.
– Heather M. on 09/08/2013
I really enjoyed the Viansa Winery and the Muir Woods.
– Johanna E. on 09/06/2013
I couldn´t find a wine tour to Napa & Sonoma at the same time, and add Muir woods was excellent!! The view that we had of Golde Gate bridge was gorgeous gorgeous!!!!!
– Angela J. on 09/05/2013
We had an appropriate amount of time at each destination, and I particularly appreciated that we went to Muir Woods early enough to beat the crowds.
– Fabiola B. on 08/18/2013
It is hard to pick the best. My husband and I enjoyed every moment of the tour. From the moment Roman picked us up to the time he dropped us off. Everything was great. Roman even gave us some recommendations for lunch and that was great too. When I called, the people I spoked to before making my reservation and after to confirm my reservation were very polite and informative.
– Marnie C. on 08/14/2013
I loved Muir Woods and Madonna Winery.
– Melissa J. on 07/31/2013
Roman was a great guide. He kept us on track with time and made the ride on the bus informative, interesting and fun. We enjoyed Muir Woods and our favorite winery was Cline Cellars. We LOVE our tour!!!

There really wasn't a part of this trip that I didn't love - the whole thing was about what I expected only better :)

Marc the Tour Guide was extremely helpful, informative and simply put made the entire tour very interesting, so much so that we looked forward to recommending him. We had all 4 tours booked with Extranomical as was recommended by a friend who had taken it earlier. We took the Sunset Cruise, Muir woods and Wine country tour (Napa and Sonoma), Hop-On Hop-Off as well as the Yosemite 1 day tour. really loved the experience and would definitely recommend the tours to everyone else too.
– Bryan & Carla W. on 06/12/2013
The tour guide was very personable, informative and interesting.
– Jing X. on 06/08/2013
Marc could drive and talk to us at the same time! I found that very impressive.
– Andrea L. on 05/29/2013
I liked everything about the tour. It was so nice to start off in Muir Woods. We were there for a little over 1 hour. It was plenty of time to enjoy the scenery. The wineries we toured were lovely boutique vineyards. This provided a personal touch for all, as the owners happily answered all of our questions. We did not feel rushed in any way; and the samples of wine we received were very adequate. We did not feel the need to purchase wine there; but decided to have the bottles shipped as they are the same cost (no tax; just shipping) which turned out to be about the same. Roman our tour guide was very welcoming and entertaining throughout. We also stopped at the Golden Gate Bridge on the way back to take pictures since we were ahead of schedule. This tour is a time saver if you only have a few days in San Francisco, since you accomplish two destinations in one day. Leaves the evening open for a nice dinner at one of the city's amazing restaurants. I will take this tour each time I visit San Francisco, if I am fortunate enough to come back.

Felt that Roman was enjoying sharing his knowledge and experience with us. That he cared about our safety - on & off the bus - liked the things that seemed extra like getting off to look at climbers on Half Dome etc. Brilliant sense of humour and totally enjoyable & relaxing day. Perfect.
– Amanda S. on 05/19/2013
Marc was a WONDERFUL tour guide - informative, funny, kind, and generally a great person to spend the day with. He also took those of us who did not want to stay in Sausalito to a great lookout point, which was unexpected and enjoyable.
– Cecilia L. on 05/08/2013
Sufficient time at each stop and did not feel pressured to buy anything. All recommendations felt genuine and not a sales pitch. Ben had great commentary and tidbits to share throughout the tour. Thumbs up on driving the crazy roads/traffic and keeping commentary going Ben!

Combination of tastings, winery visits, and visit to Redwoods all included and in the tour price (minus the park entrance). Great value for the money.

It is hard to say. It was a very good tour overall. I enjoyed the wineries and seeing the vineyards; Muir Woods was gorgeous.

Informative, courteous timely driver.Great way to highlight numerous adventures when time is limited. Next time back in San Francisco will definitely take additional Extranoical Tours.
– Deborah F. on 04/09/2012
Andy was so knowledgeable that he really added to my enjoyment of the trip. I have been to both places before but his commentary and special viewing spots were very good.
– Tara T. on 11/29/2011
My favorite parts were while we were on the bus and Andy was informing us of interesting factoids and history of the city. It was nice to sit back and let someone else drive while learning about San Francisco.
– Neville M. on 09/25/2011
The Tour guide Marc was very informative and helpful, going of his way to please all without disappointing the rest of us.
– Sarah T. on 09/20/2011
It is a well ran tour and well worth the price. I live in the Bay Area and this is the third time that I have taken visiting family and friends on this same tour. Our guide was great. The last time, in May, our guide was also great. And the time before was several years, but a great guide, as well. I don't remember his name, unfortunately. Thank you.
– Berys A. on 09/19/2011
Andy was so friendly and informative about the areas we visited. The Sonoma Valley and Sonoma town were delightful and the weather warm and beautiful. Jacuzzi was a stunning winery.
– Calum M. on 09/18/2011
Rick was incredible. Easy to get along with, informative and engaged the entire bus throughout the course of the day. The wineries were fantastic as well, as were the stops in the city of Sonoma and the Muir Woods.
– Shawna M. on 08/24/2011
Andy was well-versed in the history of almost everything we passed along the route. This was a nice touch.
